Sky Italy HD and Dbviewer

Hi,

I have a Vista 64 htpc built using an Hauppauge HVR-4000, Wintv-CI and a T-rex 4.6. I have a SKY Italia Subscription, including the HD channels. I can see with no problems SD channels but I have a bizarre behavior with SKY HD content.

 

 

I can see with no problems SKY HD Cinema +24 channel

I cannot see any other SKY HD channel but the CI menu reports the card is decoding OK.

I have tried most H.264 codecs: Cyberlink, Microsoft, Intervideo and CoreAVC codec.

 

With all these codecs Sky cinema HD +24 works well

In relation to any other channel, I get a dark screen. Using the CoreAVC codec, I can see something but the image is FAR from perfect. I would say it is by 40% rendered correctly whether the remaining 60% is made of noise.

 

am not posting this in here because I am not so sure it is a DVBViewer bug, actually it could be anyhting: proprietary codec used by SKY Italy? imperfect NDS emulation by the T-Rex? the Wintv-CI not working? Codec problem? maybe me missing some piece of information?

can't really answer you question but I thought the win-CI did'nt work with sky and DVBViewer,seems I'm wrong though? has sky Italia not sent out new sub cards to you? I know we in the uk are expecting new cards from sky and the rumour is NDS emulation has changed slightly.Be interested if anyone knows more as the waiting for a new sky card(too make sure my cam still works) is what is stopping me getting sky hd just yet.BTW I have also a nova S2 card(as well as a floppydtv s2) and found the arcsoft codec to be perfect,I'm guessing codecs are not your problem though.

Hi, no I did not receive any new card so I have to believe that is just a rumor. I do not believe it is a decoding problem, I can confirm however that wintv-ci and sky sd do work, the problem is to have it working with sky HD (minus sky cinema hd +24 that already does work)
