ATI 14.3 Driver problem

With this one, when exit DVBViewer DPC latency is over 9000us and stays there.

With 13.12 oficial or 14.4RC is ok, 20-80us.

What i was doing is that i was starting DVBViewer, watching something, then exit from it and start my rec services, and all my recs was with huge graphics artifacts.... because of that latency...

As an recomandation with ATI is better to stays with oficial drivers, with some drivers PC will not wake up from standby or from hybernation.

i have catalyst 14.4 with a hd4670 under winxp and i also have dpc latency problems when using DVBViewer. :(

when i use system default renderer with not accelerated stuff (sd mpeg2, x264 or xvid files) i often get 3000us when switching from window to fullscreen and also often when i browse channels in mini epg.

with accelerated stuff (h264 hd channels) all is perfect.

with the intel hd graphics i dont had any problem so its ati driver related.

anybody has a tip how to fix ?

when i use vmr7 in yuv mixing mode all is ok too but then i have no osd.

if some dvbv coder reads this. please add a fake osd in front of the video window for vmr7 in yuv mixing mode. :)

this is really the best winxp renderer.

i can put task manager or other "stay in front" windows before the vmr7 video window so why no osd ?

firefox also makes some problems 1000us.

now im using 12.1 and there all is ok.

only with dvbv visualization i get 3000us constant.

and some audio spikes from realteks hdmi audio driver.

i always disable hardware acceleration in browsers because i had huge problems with it in the past.

damn i even didnt know that its possible to play smooth youtube under xp.

with 12.1 it works like a charm. :)

hmm... not good.

with my older gigabyte mobo and same software and driver setup i dont get theese spikes during visuals but there it spikes during video with 12.1 and system default renderer.

mobo vga and driver combination seems to act really like a lifeform..

milkdrop in winamp doesnt spike.

so ... winamp visuals in dvbv *dream* :)

this dpc latency stuff comes from ati powerplay.

i made a catalyst profile and then edited its .xml.

i set "want_0" "want_1" and "want_2" on "CoreClockTarget_0" and "MemoryClockTarget_0" to the stock settings of my card!

more about this here:

http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=3810941&postcount=2

now my machine eats 1watt more power and vga eats 1degree more temp but this dpc kindergarten crap is gone *angry* :)

also firefox acts a lil bit faster and DVBViewer browsing channels in mini epg is absolute smooth. before it felt a lil slowdown when browsing the channels.

amd ... U SUCK !!!

On latest amd crimson edition 15.11 latency problem came back.

If i shutdown DVBViewer latency raise from 500 to 5000.

And its not all, unfortunely, with this driver discontinuties appear. And if im not mistaken with previous( amd catalyst 15.11.1 beta) same problem.

I wll test tomorrow to see if this bug appear on dvbdream or progdvb.

EDIT: 15.11.1 BETA is ok( latest driver before Crimson edition appear). No discontinuties, and latency remain at 1000us after i shutdown DVBViewer.
