Hi

I have a problem saving recordings made with RS on my Synology NAS and on another LAN computer. In Windows Explorer I can access both of them perfectly.

I have no problems recording to a local folders..., BUT when I add to the Recorder Directory (in the RS configuration) one folder from the NAS or from the LAN connected pc, it do not record to these foldes (placed on the top of the list).

And looking in the Web Interface under Status - Recording Folders, I see the external folders, but where it normally shows the total and free space, it says MISSING....

Any surgestions?

Best regards

The RS run under the Sytem user. And can therefore only access shared folder which have writ permission for the Anonymous user. With other words which every one can read and write to without a password.

Thank you for the answer, but I am not sure if I understand...

1) To log in to my NAS, I need a password. Does it mean, that RS cannot save the recordings to the NAS?

2) To boot up my second LAN connected computer, I do not need any password. How come that it cannot save recording there either?

1) yes but you should be able to edit the permissions in the "Shared Folder" settings on the NAS.

2) on the second PC is probably a user with the same name and password. As you default login user on the first PC. In this case the login happens without you doing anything.

But the system account can't do this.

2) It is possible to run the Recording Service under a windows user account instead of the system account. Maybe this helps (I havn't tried it).

Do something like (I translated from a Danish windows 7 pc) :

Control Panel>Administration>Computeradministration>Services>DVBViewer Recording Service>Log on (tab)
