vramor
Now 4K broadcasting is available, but instead of the traditional MPEG-2 TS they use MPEG-H/HD. The current versions of the DVBViewer and TransEdit do not allow to view and record such streams. Is it possible to upgrade DVBViewer and TransEdit to solve this task in future and when? P.S. You can find 4K stream now at the Eutelsat W4 36E - 12169 R/V, DVB-S2/8PSK, 27500, 3/4. Quote Link to comment
Derrick
..what is it, if it's not TS ?? DVBViewer/Transedit can handle TS only. Quote Link to comment
Tjod
MMT appears to be a IP based protocol. http://mpeg.chiariglione.org/standards/mpeg-h/mpeg-media-transport P.S. HEVC is supported and you can watch some 4k/UHD tests. Which are not using MMT. Quote Link to comment

There is the new standard for MMT: ISO/IEC 23008 instead of the old one ISO/IEC 13818. On the air now! http://mpeg.chiariglione.org/standards/mpeg-h http://mpeg.chiariglione.org/standards/mpeg-h/mpeg-media-transport/text-isoiec-2nd-cd-23008-1-mpeg-media-transport Edited October 25, 2014 by vramor Quote Link to comment
vramor
..what is it, if it's not TS ?? DVBViewer/Transedit can handle TS only. This is what TransEdit sees and can handle with. Unfortunately it cannot record two services (video and audio) simultaneously. If I try to play such record, I hear audio only. If I record only video, I can play it, without sound of course. Derrick
..you were on the wrong track, probably because some clever guy thought he had to call it DVB-H/HD As your screen shot shows it's a normal transport stream. The service contains 2 elementary streams: HEVC video and AAC audio. DVBViewer/Transedit support HEVC since the latest versions. Get the latest LAV filters and enjoy Ultra HD, provided you own a powerfull PC Quote Link to comment

The reason why you can't play both could be an inconsistent timing between video and audio. If you can, please upload a short sample onto a file server. Quote Link to comment

I've got the latest LAV filters and DVBViwer Pro v5.3.1.0 as well, so I can enjoy Ultra HD but not from Eutelsat 36B @ 12169R(V) as one can see on my screen shot (the same as on yours from Flysat). Apparently the reason is in the TS that created some clever provider. Unfortunately, maybe it is too difficult for you to check yourself how DVBViewer works in this circumstances. Not with Astra, but with Eutelsat 36B. Please feel the difference Quote Link to comment

First of all - TransEdit Analyze screen shot TS record with Video service only https://yadi.sk/d/k_2azN3hcKML9 TS with PAT+Video+Audio https://yadi.sk/d/Af4gQ-lccKMVc TS with the all services https://yadi.sk/d/HxAmtb6UcKMJZ Quote Link to comment

Derrick
ok, but what is the problem? Quote Link to comment
vramor
ok, but what is the problem? Except jerking and V/A desync (maybe because of my weak system) there is once more problem: Why MKVToolNix cannot see video track? Is it the problem of mkvmergeGUI or TS? Derrick
Why MKVToolNix cannot see video track? Is it the problem of mkvmergeGUI or TS? ..maybe not HEVC-ready? You'd better ask the maker of the tool. Quote Link to comment
