Trey
Hi everyone. I am experimenting with an external Dolby E decoder which needs the raw AES3 stream to work. I see from the quote below AES3 is supported, yet still requires a decoder, or codec. In my case the decoder is external. Is there any way to pass the AES3 stream to a digital output of a sound card? If not a sound card is there another device I could use? I also should note I am only using the trial version of DVBViewer. I will be happy to purchase the full version if there is a way to pass the AES3. AES3 is a format that usually carries PCM audio (similar to SPDIF). It is used for professional audio devices and sometimes (rarely) in the DVB sphere, particularly in satellite feeds. AES3 playback requires LAV audio decoder 0.58 or later. It is already supported by TransEdit 4.0.4 and DVBViewer GE 3.4.2 and will be supported by future DVBViewer Pro releases (later than 5.2.8.1). Please note: AES3 may contain Dolby E instead of PCM, which is not playable because no DirectShow decoder is available for it. Edited June 15, 2015 by Trey Quote Link to comment
Griga
Is there any way to pass the AES3 stream to a digital output of a sound card? It does not depend on DVBViewer. The handling is up to DirectShow Filters, particularly the audio decoder, that must let pass it through, and the audio renderer as DirectShow wrapper for the audio output resp. sound card. AES3 is not listed as S/PDIF / HDMI bitstreaming format on the property page of the LAV audio decoder (the only one known to me that is able to handle AES3), so this looks like the first obstacle. However, AES3 and S/PDIF are quite similar (see here), so maybe it can be added easily. I would contact the LAV developer on Doom9 and ask him if he can do something about it. If the audio decoder and your PC soundcard / audio output device can do it, DVBViewer can do it. Quote Link to comment

JM93
Any news on this? I am capable of playing live Dolby E audio streaming all PID's from EBSPro to Media Player Classic with LAV filters and using ReClock to bitstream the audio track through a digital audio output to an external Dolby DP572 decoder. But no luck with DVBViewer, this error appears everytime I select the Dolby E audio track: Any solution? I am using ReClock as audio renderer, and I selected LAV filters for both audio and video. Why is it working in MPC but not in DVBViewer? Thank you! Quote Link to comment
