Sorry I jumped to another thread thinking I was here, I still do not understand what changes I have to make inside configuration>transponderm that allow the required transponder appear in the target root.

In DVBViewer channel search >transponder the list I want is there , above it on tje target root it is missing .

What do I need to do to get this appear otherwise I couldn't proceed with search.

Lost pls help I ahve been on this for almost 2 days with no result.

Sorry, in Target Root you can enter the name you want e.g. DVB-S.

The selection is only for root folders present in the channel list.

In the first pic which I found this DirecTV 5, EchoStar 10,11 transponder

In the second pic Ecostar 10, 11 is missing in Target Root, I hope this helps to explain my concern, therefore how do get this to populate in the Target Root.

Thanks for your supports

It is a text field you can enter "Ecostar 10, 11" or "Ecostar"(with our keyboard) if you have it not in you channel list.

As I said, the names in the drop down list are only names from root folders which are already in your channel list.

If you like to ad a new one you have to enter the name with the keyboard.

OK another issue, after channel scan DVBViewer crashed, I tried several time same issue, not sure why this usual behavior, also one other issues

that I have noticed is the recorder kept going of line, so all the client device stopped connecting suddenly, and

on DVBViewer on the same server would allow not respond to stop, i had to kept pressing pause and stop interchangeable several times before the channel come to full stop, is something wrong with my settings?

Thanks

I thought this could be the reason why it crash after scanning, I type as you said in the target root, but I was UNABLE to select update only and update channel names, these are the options to the right, so after every scan it crashed, or I could be wrong.

Forget to mentioned, the text which I typed in the Target Root won't retain no matter how many time I type, I have turn to transedit I am waiting for the scan I will let you know if this option resolved my issue.

I am sorry more several mails and other issues raised.

Thanks

Its late here, I have exhausted my mental strengths in trouble shooting with no luck, I couldn't get the Target Root to populate, just wondering if perform a fresh installation of DVBViewer will resolve this issue? I am not sure of what to do, totally confused, I shall revisit tomorrow after work.

Try this (assuming you have RS on the same PC, otherwise simpli ignore RS parts...):

- shutdown DVBViewer AND RS, go in the "Configuration folder" and make a backup of following files: channels.dat, channels.xml and favourites.xml (a simple collective .zip/compressed folder would work well...)

- start DVBViewer (not RS!), go to menu "TV/Radio / Channel editor", select every root item and press delete key to erase all of them then save the empty channel list with the little floppy icon you find in lower bar - shutdown DVBViewer

- use TransEdit to scan every Sat/DVBT/Cable you want, saving them one by one in that way: after scan complete click on "Select all" and then "Export to File"; be sure in WHICH folder you are saving: if TE says that the file is already present you have to change folder, or you probably will overwrite your transponder files! - shut down TE

- start DVBViewer, go to menu "TV/Radio / Channel editor" and import one by one the new channels lists (using the first little icon on lower side) - save the channels list (like above...) - close "Channel editor" window and look the results: if they are satisfactory you can finally start also RS...

- if you are in some way unsatisfied you can - having shuted down DVBV AND RS - restore your peviously backed up files...

I use this method from years without a glitch AND without loose any favourites (ehm, well... certainly unless they are dead and disappeared from the transponder... :innocent: )
