...also this translation is somewhat a beta, because:

1) there are very few things (label or window title) that I don't succeed to catch up to translate

2) some italian terms I used don't satisfy me completely... (feel free to suggest me every kind of improvement)

Wrong characters are present in EPG and Info bar.

The Czech translation is a small bug crept up, thanks to whom I have long ignored this push button Scheduler settings (Settnings->Options…->Extended->Use Microsoft Task Scheduler), mistakenly marked as Ignore error messages ("Ignorovat chybová hlášení"). I came about the possibility of setting the Task scheduler.

In the attached file I only corrected this bug.

Because DVBViewer and RS language files needs to work toguether, what I do to solve it and to have it all in Spanish (RS, DVBViewer and both configurations windows), is to rename the DVBViewer language file from "Español.lng" to "Spanish.lng" and select the new "Spanish.lng" from the DVBViewer language configuration, then select the file "rc_spanish.lng in the RS configuration and everything works fine.

The "rc_spanish.lng" file is ANSI as UTF coded because UTF not show properly spanish characters in RS.

So I just done completely new language file for actual DVBViewer version 4.2.1.0. I hope that other Czech users will appreciate it. :-)

I want to translate web interface also, but there is some problem with it - in EPG view, some special Czech characters (e.g. č í ř ž ...) are not shown correctly. Can anyone look at this issue?

Alt-F selects FEC but Frequency is also marked. Maybe Frequency would work.

Alt-A selects Audio PID but Apply would be more useful. Perhaps Apply?

Looking closer, I spotted a few more:

Alt-N selects Tone but Channel Name would be more useful. Name?

Alt-O selects LOF but Modulation is also marked. Modulation?

Alt-P selects PMT PID but Polarity is also marked. Polarity?

If these suggestions are useful, can I add another?

The EPG drop-down box doesn't seem the appropriate control to use. It needs one click to view current selections and two for every change. A set of check boxes or radio buttons would be easier to use, with settings visible and only one click per change. There's nothing underneath to get in the way. Since the 3 settings are enabled by default, and I don't want to collect EPG for over 2,000 channels, I find myself using this control a lot, but it's awkward.

Edit: Yes, I know you can change these settings globally, per Category, but some channels still need to be set individually, e.g. every time a new channel is added.

What is it:

The language Editor helps you translating the DVBViewer language files. It loads on the left side a source languagefile (should be the english.lng) used as reference and on the right side the to be translated lng file.

Then you can go through the sections and search for "tagged" entries (marked with a !!) which are missing in you file.

Changes:

- Important change: You have to press F2 or double click the to be changed entry, no more inline editing. Sorry for this, but it was necessary due to other changes.

- Now orphan entries in the target language file are marked by "##". These are entries which are not used anymore. You can delete them by rightclicking them and select delete in the popup menu. You can search for them with F4 and you can delete all orphans at once by selecting edit-menu -> Delete Orphans.

- orphan sections are deleted automatically on loading.

We will update the download in www.DVBViewer.com later, for now please use the attached file.

The correct translation for lngprgOverview=Sender EPG is lngprgOverview=Station EPG.

This has the added advantage that the text fits correctly in the box and no longer causes a scroll bar to appear in IE9. I seem to remember this being raised as an issue in another post with the solution being to use compatability mode. Unfortunatly that caused the station logos in the Timeline view to be out of line with the program lists but this cures all that.

Different languages make sentences in different ways, and the way the OSD Weather display handles wind information is a bit problematic.

It says in English:

Wind: from E at 14km/h

for this, you have in the language file words "Wind", "from" and "at" to translate. And of course the directions, like E (east).

But in Hungarian for example, the same sentence is correctly like this:

Szél: kelet irányából, 14km/h sebességgel which unfortunately doesn't fit in the interface, so you have to shorten like this:

Szél: 14km/h, K-ről

When you make a sentence in Hungarian, you put the words in a different order than in English, or German. I guess not only Hungarian's the case.

It would be better to handle translations as sentences, and substitute the values within the program. Many other softwares do it like this.

English: Wind: from %a at %b

Hungarian: Szél: %b, %a-ről

I hope you understand what I mean.

Currently I translated it into Hungarian like this:

Szél: < K < 14km/h

Which is extremely dull, and misleading: not everyone recognizes "<" as the direction. There's no other way to do it.

Is there a chance to change it?

I see that in a couple of places the method is already used, like in these cases:
