Drools
It's weird: As soon when I activate overlay then the geforce 6000GT shows a overlay screen with the bottom 1/3th covered. Switching to VRM7 or 9 solves it but I wonder why overlay has problems. Using the latest Nvideo drivers. CAM module is not working. This might be the fault of the louzy BDA drivers of the KNC ONE DVB-S. The only program that was able to use the cam works only with WDM drivers. All programs wthat uses the BDA drivers fail to access the cam. I guess that's reason enought to stop with DVBViewer. Quote Link to comment
Guest Lars_MQ
All programs wthat uses the BDA drivers fail to access the cam. Yes it's normal. BDA has no CI support, it has to be implemented for each card seperatly and KNC One is one lousy card when it comes to documentation about this. sorry to say but if you can, give it back and buy a better (not knc) one... Nissegurra
I have the same error with firedtv-c: 1/3 of sceen is not correct rendered with overlay (with all codecs i tried) and DVBViewer pro can not read my CAM. The beta solves the cam issue but not the overlay problem Quote Link to comment

That is possible if they follow a reference design. The rendering is application related. Sceneo TV central, Mediaportal and GlobeTV work fine with overlay. TV central uses WDM drivers tho. Overlay should work fine cvause it's the oldest technique. Quote Link to comment
Guest Lars_MQ
Overlay does work fine, it's most likely a decoder/incorrect setting problem. unless you post the necessary info, nobody can help you. Quote Link to comment
Griga
Overlay should work fine cause it's the oldest technique. Overlay is also up to the graphics card driver. German users reported overlay issues with NVidia drivers 82.12 and later. They say it doesn't occur with 81.98 and seems to have vanished with Forceware v87.08. The "oldest technique".... there you are Quote Link to comment

That is the strenghts of the mac, far smaller hardware platform to support then under the I386 platform and that's also a reason why Microsoft started with signed drivers and BDA for their MCE version. Taht's stoll no guarantee that the driver contains no flaws but the risk is lower. Forceware v87.08. hmm latest forceware for 2000/XP is 84.21 for MCE 81.98 Typo perhaps.... BTw, i've tried 81.98 and no success Edited May 18, 2006 by Drools Quote Link to comment
