I checked the cyberlink website todat and finally found some info on the new HD264 pack

This pack was announced on 4 may 2006:

Integrated Support for High-Definition H.264 Playback

In addition to support for a complete range of video and audio formats and discs, PowerDVD 7 features integrated support for playback of high-definition MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) video content. An enhancement pack providing optimized H.264 performance for ATI® Avivo™ and NVIDIA® PureVideo™ graphics cards will be released later in the year.

It seems the trial download hasn't been updated yet, it still says release date: 05/29/2006

Some info on the pack:

It's also available in the store:

The only thing that worries me is that it says:

* For NVIDIA GeForce, GeForce Go, Quadro and ATI Radeon X1800 and X1900 cards that support H.264 Decode Acceleration for high-definition content

I was waiting for this pack since my processor alone (semperon 2800+) isn't fast enough but since I have an x1600 which supports Avivo, I hoped this pack would solve my problems, but according to the desc. it doesn't :(
