Webserver and streaming problem...

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

This is probably a very stupid question.... I manage to set up Webserver (together with DVBViewer 3.5.0.1), can program timers and switch channels.. but whenever I select "Streaming" or "Streaming Config", I only get a reload to "http://127.0.0.1/prog_summary.html?aktion=prog_summary" ("What's on Now"). I must say I never used streaming before, and probably I need to do something inside DVBViewer as well, not only in the webserver (but then, the webserver readme says that ASFStreaming had nothing to do with Netstreaming and could only be activated using the webinterface, so I'm not so sure if I need to do something within DVBViewer...?)

I read this thread, but unfortunately I don't get the "Network" entry between "Weather" and "Scripts"... :bye: I do have some entries under "Hardware" that I configured as shown in the attachment. DVBViewer then stops showing a picture at all (I imagine it is disabled during streaming?) - but still, the webserver can't access to it, neither "Streaming" nor "Streaming Config". As it works for everybody else, I think I'm doing something trivial wrong... :) Also I suspect that above thread has to do only with Netstreaming, and not ASFStreaming... but why don't I get anything under "Streaming Config"? I tried both IE and Firefox.

Note that neither VLC is able to open the port ("Unable to open 'http://127.0.0.1:2345'") - so I think DVBViewer never activates the socket...?

Thanks for any help, klaymen

Did you have executed the registerASF.bat file in the plugins directory? You have to register the ASFStreaming.dll to enable the webstreaming feature.

Yes I did, but I could solve the problem meanwhile, an installation issue: I unpacked the webserver distribution content inside the DVBViewer plugin (using Winrar), yes, but this way it was unpacked into its own subdirectory "httpserver" *inside* DVBViewer! But it seems the outermost directory ("httpserver") needs to be unwrapped, so its subdirectories (plugins etc) needs to be merged with DVBViewers ones. Winrar added an additional directory hierarchy. Strangely, everything else seems to work though.

Yes, ASFStreaming.dll (webstreaming plugin) has to be unpacked directly to the DVBViewer Plugins directory.

The "httpserver"-directory without the "plugin"-directoy could be installed where ever you want. I think the webserver-plugin communicates with DVBViewer via COM, so it is independent from the directory structure.
