Dvb-tv
All my life i have been used to date formatting like this DD/MM/YY. On my recordings the output is wrong for me being MM/DD how can i adjust this to be DD/MM. Quote Link to comment
Dvb-tv
Any one know if there is a way to make to do the above, by editing an .ini file or other..?.. Quote Link to comment
Dvb-tv
Any update for this, from DVBViewer developers. Quote Link to comment
bergh
Hello ! Change 10 Movies in the way you like and try to sort them in any serious way. Then you will understand why the programmers used this naming convention. There are tools that can help you. I.e. ACDSEE has a series name change function. I would like to stay with the current naming convention. And I HATE it to be forced to use American Satndards. In this case its right because of Windows. Complain at Billy's Company for that. BTW:How an American comes closer to SI units ? inch by inch. Quote Link to comment
Derrick
IMHO, @Dvb-tv asked a legitimate question. MM/DD is US style. But they have ATSC and we DVB ps. I stopped asking these kind of questions.. pressing F5 in windows: 10:13 21-11-2006 Quote Link to comment
Guest Lars_MQ
Ever tried sorting by name with you dd/mm scheme? Quote Link to comment
Derrick
Ever tried sorting by name with you dd/mm scheme? I don't understand. What is wrong with me dd/mm scheme? Quote Link to comment
Guest Lars_MQ
with dd/mm: recording 15-02 recording 15-03 recording 16-02 ... with mm/dd: recording 02-15 recording 02-16 recording 03-15 ... Quote Link to comment
Derrick
hm, that is rather searching by date which is a normal possibility in windows anyway, or not? Quote Link to comment
bergh
Hello (again ?) ! I am working for a US company so I am forced very often to use this kind of conventions, and I hate it. Hence, sorting the Recordings is not possible with European/German Date conventions. I learned it zthe hard way. Our OS (Windows in 95%) is written by Americans ==> Sorting does nozt function well European/German Style. Love it or leave it. Even it is is possible to set the convention in the DVBViewer, your list of Recorduings will be a mess regarding the First In , first Out rule. I want the oldes on top or at the bottom. That can be done in Windows this way. With German Sytle you get it sorted by day. So a TV Series like N-CIS or DZSZ (does not matter) will be show like shown above. And if you ciollect it till a DVD can befilled with i.e XVID you have 2-4 month of Recordings look like the list above 09.08. Bla Bla Bla 12.06. Bla Bla Bla 13.07. Bla Bla Bla 14.09 Bla Bla Bla If you do not rename everything watching a TVSeries in sequenz will be hard to do. And even DVDPlayers or HD Boxes connected to your TV will sort them like this. Thats what I mean. I do not like it either hence in a world where the Americans still set (set in the past) some Standards (PC , DOS , Windows) we have to arrange with it. Fazit : The DVBViewer imho does it the only right way. Any suggestions to solve the issue are welcome. Quote Link to comment
Derrick
Do I have a different windows? Normal folder options are : view -> details; arrange icons by -> date that gives me the sorting you want to have without the restriction Quote Link to comment
bergh
Hello (again) Sorting by time (Second intention) is then scrambled. But O.K. : If 1000 User vote for it Hackbart possible will implement it. I personaly feel that this will be Nummer 12345 on his List of 12349 To Dos. Quote Link to comment
Dvb-tv
Would it not be easier to either setup DVBViewer to the country the user is in. Or have a setting to change to country settings. Windows does this when installing, it is why windows has it correct, but not with DVBViewer recordings. My folders how i set them are a mess with dates different all over since using DVBViewer. Would it be to much to make this adjustment. ---- My folders are set prefered like this. view -> details; arrange icons by -> Name -> Auto Arrange -> Details View Edited November 23, 2006 by Dvb-tv Quote Link to comment
Griga
If 1000 User vote for it If 1000 users vote, we will have 100 different votings. Everybody has his own habits / preferences and wants DVBViewer to be adapted accordingly. Maybe a more sophisticated filename scheme (-> options), that allows to enter separate placeholders for dd / mm / yyyy would be a solution. Quote Link to comment
Gioxy
I loudly quote Griga solution's! It resolve the prob worldwide and in a simple & totally flexible way (and I hope Christian agree too...) Quote Link to comment
Dvb-tv
Please Christian it is needed. Quote Link to comment
