Aztech
Hi, It would be nice if you could add a "Aspect Ratio 16:9" in the context menu next to the 4:3 one, I presume it's just a matter of setting the window dimensions with a 25% vertical squeeze relative to a normal 4:3 window. Fullscreen is a little more troublesome because you can't manually resize the window. Btw, isn't there a 16:9 anamorphic flag in the MPEG2 GOP header? Take care, Andrew. Quote Link to comment
Helmet
Hello, I just found some attributes at the sequence display extension like "display_horizontal_size" and "display_vertical_size" at the MPEG2 video syntax description version 2000. But anyway is not indicated as mandatory. So the coding people may be can not rely on it. If it is present, the display window ratio can be fixed and the whole amount on shown pixels is known ..... By the way normally the TV-screen is fixed to 3x4 or 16x9 ..... But this seems to be more flexible like a flag - in my opinion. What I mean in detail: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ For a fullscreen screen displaying you need from case to case an extra (in contrast with) border around the moving picture or better blanking the background and hopefully to have an option to center it....
