CAMS & s2-dvb cards

Hi Everyone,

I am still undecided as to which s2-dvb card is best for me. If anyone can provide me with the following info it would be of help

1. Are the CI interfaces of the following cards working under DVBViewer 3.8

a ) Technotrend s2-3200

b ) Twinhan s2-dvb / Azurewave sp400-- (Twinhan 1041)

c ) Techonotrend s2-3650 USb

2. if so what cams have you got working with official cards

3. which card a,b, or c do you rate as being the most stable and problem free

4. as the support for diseqc 1.2 improved for the above cards under DVBViewer 3.8? ie do the above cards work with a

HH120 Stab motor?

5. Are there any s2-dvb tuning issues with the above cards

6. What version of codecs have given you the best results with the above cards

7. as anyone encountered any performance/ picture quality issues when using the usb s2-3600 or s2-3650

once again thanks for your wise words.

ps. sorry if some of these questions have already been asked elsewhere in another way.

Is the FloppyDTV DVBS2 supported under DVBViewer, including CAM support?

Yes, the floppy DTV DVB-S2 works under DVBViewer.

Once installed, load the latest firmware of the DVB-S2 for digital everywhere's website.

CAM is supported, no need to run the CI console.

Some report problems when using two floppy DTV's in one system.

The firmware update should fix that but still some having still problems.

the DVB-S2 alone has no problems at all.

Ouch, I intend to have two of these in my future system.

Two of them work also as long as the firewire port is not causing problems..but, hey the floppy DTV-S2 has a ....firewire repeater.

I'll start my HTPC build next month, undecided between two of these or two 3200s.

Having said that, I read that Digital Everywhere offer better support so will probably opt for them.

Hi Everyone,

here is an update to my initial enquiry.

After some thought I decided to go for the Digital Everywhere floppydtv s2 firewire card.. and it as been excellent. It works as well as my old SS2 card and is as fast even when switching between HD channels !

Having had the card for only a few days I am glad to say that so far the performance , with DVBV ver 3.9, as been faultless.

My next task is to set up DISEQC but I cannot find any documentation to help with this - I have a HH120 Stab motor- can anyone help?

Thanks everyone.

FloppyDTV supports Disecq 1.2 but no usals yet.

Which means it can control a rotor.

You need a disecq switch to split the signal between LNB and HH120

I don't use a rotor but multiple LNB setup that point to 3 astra positions.

No delay to turn the dish and no motor noise.

Hi

This mean that with DVBViewer and the FloppyDTVS2 I can move the rotor (the mine is a generic 1.2 rotor that works with modded skystar 2 drivers)?

Regards
