Hi,

DVBViewer is an international DVB software which is been using on all over the world.

It is gonna be foolish thing to hope it will give you preset scanned inis for all individual satellite.

Even for European countries, preset inis coming with DVBV Pro might not be current or will not meet your specific needs or expectations.

So, you need to prepare your own specific current and custom inis.

While trying to explain you how to do this, i thought making this under Vista might give an idea to some of our friends who live issues with DVBV on this OS

OK, lets start,

For the first time installation:

(this section is an enhanced rewrite of the quotation from "DVBV Guide" written by ricabullah and mummum69)

Before installing DVBViewer, make sure whether DVB Card drivers and all necessary codecs have been installed)

First, download these files from members area:

DVBViewer Pro ***(current 3.9.1.0)

TransEdit *** (current 3.1.3)

After downloading DVBV , extract the file onto desktop.

Right click on Setup.exe and select œrun as admin on opening popup window.

Installation process will start; you are writing your username and password and installing goes on.

Select €œfor all users option.

At the and of the installation you will get this window.

Just untick €œview changelog.txt and œlaunch DVBViewer vizard€ boxes. And click finish.

At this stage i want to show you behind the scenes and try to explain what is happening there

step by step.

Do not open DVBViewer yet.

Since configuration folder is hidden , we have to make hidden files appear.

Go to Computer; C > Organize > Folder and Search options > View > Hidden Files and Folders and tick " Show hidden files and folders" option.

Now we can see hidden files and folders anymore

Lets check:

C > ProgramData > CMUV > DVBViewer

cmuvraweu9.th.jpg

Now we are going to C > ProgramFiles > DVBViewer

When you check Transponders folder here, you will find lots of raw TP inis. Delete them all.

Now it is an empty folder anymore.

We are opening kingofsat satellites page and download inis which we need into emptied Transponders folder.

http://en.kingofsat.net/satellites.php

We downloaded Astra 19,2 and Hotbird 13 in our sample (0192.ini and 0130.ini)

Now we extract transedit.zip into a temporary folder that we created on desktop. We are copying Transedit .exe into DVBViewer main folder (C > ProgramFiles > DVBViewer)

Now we are ready for the first start of DVBViewer. We are opening program and making basical settings: Hardware and DirectX

First we are going to make device scan.

Settings > Options > Hardware > Scan devices

Afterscan click on our device and checkout. Click apply.

Lets make DX settings now.

Settings > DX

Now, lets checkout again configuration folder:

This time we can see some settings files created under CMUV.

Now we have to create our channels.dat since Transedit needs to see that file.

We will create a temporary channels.dat. Open DVBV and click ChannelScan, select just one tp. Select diseqC and write "trial" on "Target Root" box.

Click scan frequency, at the end of the scan click "close" Now your temporary channels list has been created.

Lets check out CMUV again:

http://img295.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cmuvraw3fj4.jpg

We see Transponders Folder (which is the copy of the folder on DVBV main folder and it is created by program automatically since there is no preset Transponders Folder here)

Channels.dat and its copy, channels.bak and favourites.xml and favourites.bak

We are opening Transedit. First we make "scan devices" from Settings > Hardware.

And selecting our Sat and diseqC, click "Apply" and "Save".

For the first time scanning select a known tp from the list and "scan selected"

Here on the opening scan window select catagory as "Frequency" and close the window.

http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/3786/tr...irstscanfr8.jpg

This time we are going to select "Scan all" After scanning completed "select all" and "export" as for instance "astra 19,2" into Transponders Folder under DVBV main folder and close Transedit.

Now it is time to import to DVBV. Start DVBV, open Channel Editor click import button and import astra 19,2.ini and click on save button.

Restart DVBV. You will see your new channel list. Delete the temporary "trial" channels list.

Some remarks:

Both DVBV and Transedit look into CMUV first. If you download a new sat ini to update the whole list, download into Transponders Folder on CMUV.

But Transedit is a little bit different, if it doesn't find any TP folder under CMUV, this time it is gonna read from TP folder on main folder of DVBV while DVBV itself would copy this under CMUV if it couldn't find any folder under CMUV.

Reinstallation:

Before reinstalling, copy these files into a temp. folder: hardware.xml, channels.dat, setup.xml, favourites.xml)

So as to succeed the reinstall without any problem, you have to clean everything very well.

First uninstall the program. After that, you have to make sure all remains of CMUV has been cleaned.

Please check where you might find them:

here

And follow the instructions on section one.

best!
