tmpstream.asf has only 1 stream - audio - and http server buffers all

tmpstream.asf has only one stream - audio - and the http server windows media player buffers all day without the stream ever playing. I have tried elecard, auto, nvidia. What is the problem?

I should point out that I looked at it using asfview.exe. Also, the data object is 50 bytes, and it is the whole file is 4.86 kb. The file seems to update once when I hit stream, and then it is locked but doesn't change.

I should also point out that I am playing pre-recorded files. Mpeg, mpg, asf,wmv.

most likely the video decoder is the problem.

I've tried a bunch of different codecs. Same result. Except with intervideo, the html page never loads and the http streamer doesn't seem to start at all.

 

wmvencod.dll hasn't been accessed in two days. Does that tell me anything?
