TranEdit 3.2.7 Beta is available in the members area, beta section.

 

This beta version requires a public beta test, because there are major changes concerning DiSEqC. I'll start another thread where you can post your findings, results, comments, questions etc.

 

- New: DiSEqC 1.1 / 1.2 support (only for DVB-S devices allowing to send DiSEqC raw commands), which means, support for motorized dishes and cascaded DiSEqC elements (uncommitted switches, positioner behind a switch).

 

- New: DiSEqC Editor ("DiSEqC expert mode"). Allows to assign user-defined DiSEqC command sequences to a satellite position - as you will see - much more conveniently than with the DiSEqC Editor of DVBViewer Pro 4.0.0.0 and earlier versions.

 

- New: Positioner Console for setting up and adjusting a motorized dish, with several enhancements compared to the Positionier Console provided by DVBViewer Pro 4.0.0.0 and earlier versions.

 

For details please read the DiSEqC instructions (not yet integrated in the official TransEdit manual):

Reading them is mandatory, otherwise you are disqualified as a beta tester. The most important points are:

 

- The way TransEdit handles and stores DiSEqC command sequences (defined in the DiSEqC Editor) is not compatible with the current DVBViewer Pro 4.0.0.0 release. Don't export scan results with the "Extended" DiSEqC setting to the DVBViewer Pro 4.0.0.0 channellist – it will cause confusion. Everything else, including "Preset Position" and "Angular Position" (also known as USALS) is compatible.

 

- A new DVBViewer Pro Beta 4.0.1 version will be available soon. It adopts the new handling of DiSEqC command sequences and provides a TransEdit style DiSEqC Editor, thus not being compatible with previous versions in this respect. DVBViewer Pro 4.0.1 will not provide a Positioner Console anymore, but leave it to TransEdit to do the job in a more elaborated way.

 

Consequence: People who are using DiSEqC command sequences in DVBViewer Pro 4.0.0.0 and earlier versions (stuff like [E0 10 39 F0] W100 [E0 10 38 F0]) will have to enter them again. However, as already mentioned above, it will be much easier than before. We decided to make a clear cut, since the restrictions of the old system would hinder progress considerably. Nevertheless the TransEdit 3.2.7 DiSEqC Editor provides a Copy command that facilitates entering DiSEqC command sequences in DVBViewer Pro 4.0.0.0 and earlier versions - read more about it here.

 

- The "Preset Position", "Angular Position" and "Extended" DiSEqC settings are not compatible with DVBViewer GE 2.6.2 and earlier versions, due to lack of DiSEqC 1.1/1.2 support Don't export scan results with these DiSEqC settings to the DVBViewer GE 2.6.2 channellist. A GE version providing full support for the new settings will follow as soon as possible.

 

Some words about hardware. The new DiSEqC capabilites of TransEdit 3.2.7 have already been tested successfully with

 

- FireDTV S2, connected to a motorized dish (thanks to hdv).

 

- FireDTV S2, Hauppauge Nova S2 HD and TechnoTrend S2-3600 USB connected to a DiSEqC 1.0 switch (TechniSat MultyTenne). I've tried to simulate DiSEQC 1.1 - worked so far.

 

Other devices are still to be tested. Please take over...

 

Please note: DiSEqC 1.1/1.2 support for TechnoTrend (including the old SkyStar HD and other relabeled devices) requires the file ttBdaDrvApi_Dll.dll in the TransEdit installation directory (where TransEdit.exe is). The DLL is (optionally) installed with DVBViewer Pro. Otherwise DiSEqC support is restricted to DiSEqC 1.0.

 

Other changes in TransEdit 3.2.7 Beta:

 

- Changed: TransEdit opens a new Scanner Window for each satellite position resp. DVB Network that is scanned. A second, third... Scanner Window starts with the default settings when opened for the first time. Adjust it to your needs.

 

This is because we want to encourage exporting different satellite positions resp. DVB networks to different DVBViewer channellist root folders. DVBViewer GE is already forcing it. DVBViewer Pro still allows to mix up channels from different satellite positions in a single root folder. However, it is recommendable to avoid that, because it will make the channellist handling much more difficult for you. And no, it is not possible to perform two scans simultaneously in TransEdit yet. This would requires a new scanner engine, and I didn't want to change too much at once. Will probably come later...

 

- Added: Context menu for the transponder list list :bye: on the left side of the TransEdit Main Window (right-click it...).

 

- Added: Possibility to assign a channel group to a transponder list in the new context menu (see above), corresponding to the channel groups in DVBViewer. TransEdit uses the group as preset for the Group Dropdown List in the Scanner Window, and exports scan results according to this group setting.

 

- Added: Possibility to assign a set of channel groups to each device on Settings -> Hardware.

 

Channel groups enable assigning channels (or rather transponder lists in TransEdit) to particular devices. If you set a transponder list to group B, and this list is selected, TransEdit will only use devices containing group B in their channel group set for scanning/analyzing. E.g. if one of your devices is connected to a dish pointing to Astra, and another one to a second dish pointing to Hotbird, you can tell TransEdit (and DVBViewer) by setting the groups accordingly which device must be used for which satellite position.

 

- Added: DiSEqC support for TeVii devices (including DiSEqC 1.1/1.2, untested).

 

- Added: Support for the DVB-C tuner of the Pinnacle PCTV Quatro DVB-T/C hybrid device.

 

In case of a TransEdit update, a new hardware detection must be performed on Settings -> hardware for these devices.

 

- Several minor enhancements and fixes.

TranEdit 3.2.9 Beta (release candidate) is available in the members area, beta section. Please post reports and comments in this thread.

 

- Updated: German and English manual.

 

- Added: Context-sensitive help. It is available if the files TransEdit.chm and TransEditHelp.ini are present in the TransEdit directory. Press F1 to open a window displaying the manual section for the currently selected window or control element. Please download the help files from here:

The ones in the members area do not contain TransEditHelp.ini yet.

 

- Changed: If TransEdit is part of a DVBViewer installation, and the file channels.dat does not yet exist in the DVBViewer configuration folder, TransEdit creates an empty channels.dat, thus enabling export of scan results. However, TransEdit now uses other means to check for a DVBViewer installation. If DVBViewer Pro/GE is not installed, Export, Preview and the Analyzer are disabled.

 

- Added/Changed: Drag & Drop of transponder INI files on the TransEdit icon or Main Window. Dropping a single INI file opens the file resp. adds it to the list on the left side of the Main Window. Dropping a folder closes all files, clears the list in the Main Window and opens all (valid) transponder INI files that are present in the folder. Dropping a TS or M2TS file starts file analysis in the TransEdit Analyzer (as before).

 

- Fix for TechnoTrend DVB-S/S2 devices: The first DiSEqC command after initialization is repeated after a delay of 250 ms. LNB power is switched on when sending the first command, thus giving DiSEqC equipment time to power up and get ready for receiving the (repeated) DiSEqC command.

 

- Added: The Omicom SkyStar 4 device is recognized as TurboSight 8920 compatible, thus making DiSEqC work.

 

- Added: Support for Afatech AF9005 DVB-T sticks. It is an USB 1.1 device requiring to set up hardware PID filters due to the low data rate. No recommendable product, since USB 1.1 entails additional restrictions in DVBViewer.

 

- Several minor fixes (wrong error message in one case, small memory leak, etc...)

It's time to make it a final version:

 

TransEdit 3.3.0 is available in the members area.

 

Changes since TranEdit 3.2.9 Beta (see above):

 

- Fix: Support for Afatech AF9005/AF9015 based DVB-T sticks didn't work as expected. Thanks to XStoneX for testing.

 

- Updated: Included ReadMe, included transponder lists for Astra 19°/23°/28° and Hotbird 13° East, German and English manual in the members area.

 

Thanks to all who participated in the DiSEqC tests. The remaining issues seem to be more or less driver related. However, in case of new findings there will be another TransEdit update...

TranEdit 3.3.1 is available in the members area - a minor update, only relevant for certain DVB devices.

 

Please note: If you own one of the devices mentioned below, perform Settings -> Hardware -> Detect Devices after updating TransEdit!

 

- Updated: Transponder lists for Astra 19/23/28° East, Hotbird 13° East.

 

- Fix: TerraTec Cinergy S PCI wasn't recognized as Twinhan-compatible (DiSEqC didn't work)

 

- Fix: DiSEqC with DVBWold DVB-S devices didn't work as expected.

 

- Fix: DVB-T sticks based on the AfaTech AF9015 chip were always used in the (bandwidth-limited) USB 1.1 mode, though they are capable of USB 2.0.

 

- Changed: Support (untested) for the new TerraTec Cinergy HTC USB XS HD driver (DVB-T/C hybrid device).

 

With previous drivers TransEdit had to take special measures to enable DVB-C access (artificially adding a DVB-C hardware entry, using a special interface for switching over to DVB-C). Now TerraTec has released a new Cinergy HTC USB XS HD driver for this device that doesn't require these measures anymore and (unfortunately) is not compatible with the previous one.

 

Please note: TransEdit 3.3.1 only supports the new TerraTec Cinergy HTC USB XS HD driver! If you are still using the old driver, stay with TransEdit 3.3.0 or download it from the Members Area -> Old Versions.

 

- Added: Experimental UniCable support according to the EN50494 standard. (What is UniCable? English Deutsch).

 

Please note: UniCable will only work with TechnoTrend and FireDTV DVB-S/S2 devices. Other device drivers don't provide the means for UniCable support yet. In case of a TechnoTrend device the file ttBdaDrvApi_Dll.dll (optionally installed with DVBViewer Pro) must be present in the directory where TransEdit.exe is located.

 

UniCable support is activated by inserting two lines in the [Hardware] section of the file TransEdit.ini for the device in question, while TransEdit is closed. TransEdit.ini is located in the configuration folder (see Info -> Configuration Folder in TransEdit). The UniCable entries must look like this:

 

Slot.x=N

SlotFrequency.x=FFFF

 

where x is the device number (0 if there is only one device), N the slot number (0..7) and FFFF the slot frequency (intermediate frequency, IF) in MHz on which different transponders are routed to the receiver. Example:

 

Slot.0=6

SlotFrequency.0=1980

 

You may find these values on the antenna socket. Please note: On sockets or in manuals the slots may be numbered from 1 to 8. You will have to subtract 1 in this case.

TranEdit 3.3.2 is available in the members area - another minor update:

 

- Added: Detection of two more DVBWorld DVB-S/S2 devices in order to make DiSEqC work - there's such a variety, they seem to manufacture an individual device for each customer :D

 

- Enhanced: Distinction of two identical DVB devices in a PC if the driver is not able to keep them correctly apart (following a concept by Lars). Should supersede the "SkipComponents" tweak (-> forum search) that previously was necessary in such cases. Manually added SkipComponents entries in TransEdit.ini are ignored if TransEdit 3.3.2 finds means to perform an automatic distinction.

 

- Fix: The transponder lists in the 3.3.1 ZIP contained my personal blind scan and channel group settings, which may lead to confusion.

TranEdit 3.3.3 is available in the members area:

 

- Fix: Detection of additional DVBWorld devices somehow killed detection of TeVii devices - sorry. If you own a TeVii device, please perform Settings -> Hardware -> Detect Devices after updating TransEdit.

 

- Fix: Better distinction of two identical DVB devices in a PC prevented Twinhan DTV-DVBS 878 devices from working in TransEdit (due to a questionable driver design).

 

- Fix: Under certain circumstances changed settings weren't saved in the file TransEdit.ini when closing TransEdit.

TranEdit 3.3.4 is available in the members area:

 

- Fix: Some bugs related to ATSC scanning (untested).

 

- Fix: Two UniCable-related issues (wrong UniCable power_off command, TechnoTrend S2-3200 must be explicitely set to 13V LNB voltage before releasing the device).

 

- Fix: In case of two or more Medion DVB-S/T hybrid cards in a PC only one of all tuners was available at a time.

 

- Fix: There were still problems with saving window positions and settings when closing TransEdit. I hope I finally got it right now. :)

 

- Enhanced: Multi-monitor support. Windows will re-appear on the monitor where they were closed. If the monitor is not available, windows will be automatically re-directed to the primary monitor.

 

- New: Copy to Clipboard command in the context menu of the scanner window. At the moment completely useless :D Transfering scan results via clipboard will be supported by future DVBViewer versions (at least DVBViewer GE).

 

- Updated: Transponder lists for Astra 19° East and Hotbird 13° East, the latter including changes Eutelsat had to apply due to jamming attacks on uplink frequencies by the Iran government. The 12226 V transponder has been split; VOA PERSIAN is now available on a separate low symbolrate transponder (12242 V); BBC Persian on other satellite positions.

 

- Minor fixes, some restructuring of the scanner window code.

TranEdit 3.3.5 is available in the members area:

 

- Fix: Multi-monitor support (introduced in 3.3.4) didn't work as expected. Windows didn't re-appear on the monitor where they were closed.

 

- Fix: Selecting a new output directory for the Analyzer (Settings > Analyzer > Output Directory) with the Folder Button didn't activate the Save Button in the Settings Window.

 

- Fix: ATSC scanning didn't detect the channel names correctly

 

- New: Scan -> Scan TS file menu item (also available in the Context Menu of the Transponders List). Enables feeding the scanner with a TS file.

 

This is a debug facility for scanner problems with DVB/ATSC networks / transponders that I can't receive. The scan results cannot be exported to DVBViewer since parameters like frequency, symbolrate etc. can't be retrieved from a file.

 

- New: Select PAT, SDT & PMT PIDs menu item in the Context Menu of the Analyzer's PID List.

 

This is helpful if you encounter scanning issues and want to support debugging by providing a sample TS file. Select the affected transponder, start the Analyzer, let it work for approx. 30 seconds, select the PAT, SDT & PMT PIDs, record the selection for approx. 30 seconds, zip the resulting TS file and attach it in the forum or provide it elsewhere for download. If EPG issues have to be handled, additionally select EIT PID 18 before you start recording. It may increase the file size considerably, however.

 

- New: Checkbox Settings -> Scanner 1 -> Assume ATSC when scanning a TS file. Lets the TransEdit Scanner regard the content of a TS file as ATSC (not DVB compliant) if ticked.

 

Analyzing ATSC transponders is not yet supported by TransEdit. It will probably be added in future.

 

- Added: DiSEqC 1.1/1.2 support for KNC / Satelco / Mystique DVB-S/S2 devices.

 

Please note: DiSEqC 1.1/1.2 support for these devices requires the file KNCBDACTRL.dll version 1.2.1208 or later, as included in recent GlobeDigital installations (KNC TV app) or in DVBViewer Pro Beta 4.2.x (see here). This DLL version is not compatible with DVBViewer Pro 4.1.x or the Recording Service! Additionally it may be necessary to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package. Without the DLL only DiSEqC 1.0 is supported. Copy the DLL to the TransEdit directory, if not yet present.

 

- Added: DiSEqC 1.1 support for TechniSat SkyStar2. Enables using the DiSEqC Editor for setting up DiSEqC command sequences as required for cascaded resp. uncommitted/committed switches.

 

Please note: DiSEqC 1.1 support for the SkyStar2 only works with the network driver, not with the BDA driver. It requires the "Use standard interface off" mode (see Settings -> Hardware). In my experience a delay of at least 250 ms must be inserted between two commands to make it work reliably. DiSEqC 1.2 (positioner commands) is not supported.

 

- Added: Unicable support for the TechniSat SkyStar2 (experimental). It is subject to the same conditions as DiSEqC 1.1 (see above).

- Updated: Transponder list for Astra 19° East.

TransEdit 3.4.0 is available in the members area.

 

Several parts of the Scanner Window and related code have been restructured / reworked. Particularly features that are helpful for DVBViewer channel list maintenance have been enhanced. The most important points are:

 

- Updated: TransEdit manual (German and English).

 

Please note: Since the Scanner Window chapter of the TransEdit manual has been also restructured, the context-sensitive help resp. the new files TransEdit.chm and TransEditHelp.ini are not fully compatible with previeous TransEdit versions (and vice versa). So if you update to TransEdit 3.4, please also update the help files.

 

- Changed: Channel names in italic indicate that a scan result has been recognized in the DVBViewer channel list, but the assignment is uncertain, because the orbital position is missing the DVBViewer channel list data, thus possibly entailing the danger of mismatches across satellite positions resp. DVB networks.

 

If assignments are apparently correct, update the corresponding entries by using the "Add / Update" or "Update All" functions (see below). It will add the missing data in the DVBViewer channel list and enable an unambiguous assignment in future. The orbital position (as displayed in the TransEdit Main Window for satellite transponder lists) will play a major role for distinguishing DVB networks in future DVBViewer versions, so it's worth completing the channel list in this respect.

 

- Changed: All buttons affecting the scan results only are now grouped on the left side, all buttons affecting the DVBViewer channel list are grouped on the right side (above the Export Settings).

 

- Changed: The former "Send" and "Update" commands have been merged to "Add / Update". It works like this: Selected scan results that are not yet present in the DVBViewer channel list (grey or white background) are added. In case of scan results that are already present (light blue background, also partially) the corresponding entries in the DVBViewer channel list are updated.

 

- New: "Update All" button. Applies to all scan results that are already present in the DVBViewer channel list (light blue background, also partially). The corresponding entries in the DVBViewer channel list are updated.

 

- Added: Checkbox Settings -> Scanner 1 -> Update channel names in the DVBViewer channel list. Determines whether channel names in the DVBViewer channel list are updated according to scan results or not when using the Update Commands in the Scanner Window. Untick it if you prefer your own naming system.

 

- Changed: The former "Inactive Channels" function has been renamed to "Dead Channels", saying more clearly what it does. Reason: See next but one item.

 

- Changed: The OK and Cancel buttons in the Dead Channels Window have been replaced by a Close Button. The Delete button now removes the selected entries immediately from the DVBViewer channel list after prompting for confirmation.

 

- Added: Ability to detect (inactive) channels that are only listed in the SDT, not in the PAT/PMT (which means, there are no video and audio streams assigned to it).

 

- New: Filter option "Inactive Channels". Shows / hides scan results that are flagged as video/audio service, but are currently broadcasting no video and no audio stream.

 

This option enables finding channels that are temporarily inactive, e.g. some Sky Germany channels (former Premiere) on Astra 19° East or BBC THREE/FOUR resp. CBeebies/CBBC on Astra 28° East. Though no video/audio PID can be assigned to them while they are inactive you may export these scan results to the DVBViewer channel list. The DVBViewer channel auto update function (if switched on, see channel menu) will do the rest once these channels get active.

 

On the other side the "Inactive Channels" filter options can be used to hide a lot of junk, particularly data channels that are wrongly flagged as video/audio services.

 

- New: Delete DVBViewer Channels function (context menu only): Applies to selected scan results that are already present in the DVBViewer channel list (light blue background, also partially). Removes the corresponding entries from the DVBViewer channel list after prompting for confirmation.

 

- Changed: The Export to File function (former "Export") saves the selected scan results to a INI or CSV file (not as before all displayed scan results), thus being more flexible. However, now you have to additionally click „Select All“ if you want to export all scan results.

 

- Added: "Initial Letter" option in the Category Dropdown List: Lets TransEdit use the initial letters of the scan results as category name when exporting or adding scan results to the DVBViewer channel list.

 

Particularly useful on Astra 28° East if you don't want all channels to get piled up in a single BSkyB category folder. Hint: Let TransEdit sort the list of scan results alphabetically by channel name before exporting / adding channels with this new option. Click the "Name" column header.

 

- Enhanced: Method for recognizing scan results in the DVBViewer channel list. The list of scan results now shows more clearly (without ambiguity) which channels are already present.

 

- Removed: Settings -> Scanner 2 -> Same Channel Threshold input field. It's not necessary anymore to configure a "matching attributes" level.

 

Plese consult the TransEdit Manual if you want to know more details about the changes in the Scanner Window.

 

General changes:

 

- Fix: Several 120 dpi issues, several minor bugs.

 

- Updated: Transponder lists for Astra 19° East, Hotbird 13° East

 

- Added: Transponder list "Terrestrial (UK) Blind Scan" (Terrestrial_UK.ini). Designed for the blind scan capabilities of TransEdit. Please note: In its initial state this transponder list is not usable for scanning with DVBViewer. Read more about it here.

TransEdit 3.4.1 is available in the members area. The usual follow-up after major changes :bye:

 

- Fix: Starting a blind scan with an empty transponder list caused a "list index out of bounds" error.

 

- Fix: Settings -> Hardware -> Detect Devices could lead to an ambiguous assignment of internal device numbers when a new device was added to the list, at worst letting TransEdit regard two different DVB devices as hybrid tuners that cannot be used at the same time.

 

- Fix: TechniSat AirStar2 / CableStar2 cards were detected as DVB-S devices.

 

- Improved: Unicable EN 50494 support. More accurate frequency calculation, ability to send a PIN to a MDU (multiple dwelling unit) router.

 

- Added: Options -> Hardware -> Unicable Settings button (only for TechniSat SkyStar2, FireDTV and TechnoTrend DVB-S/S2 devices). Opens a dialog window for Unicable configuration.

 

- Added: Detection of the new TechniSat SkyStar S2 as DVB-S2 device.

 

- Added: Possibility to enter an arbitrary category name in the category dropdown list of the scanner window. Such a category name applies to all exported scan results.

 

- Some minor improvements.

TransEdit 3.4.2 is available in the members area.

 

- Added: DiSEqC 1.0/1.1/1.2 support for QBOX devices. Requires Settings -> Hardware -> Detect Devices in case of a TransEdit update.

 

- Added: AES3 (SMPTE 302M) audio stream detection in the Analyzer.

 

- Fix: When re-read from the file TransEdit.ini, the Category and Root export settings in the Scanner Window were displayed, but not applied correctly (only right after being set manually).

TransEdit 3.5.0 is available in the members area.

 

- Added: Huffman.dll for Huffman coded EPG data. Please store it in the same directory as TransEdit.exe. Will also be used by coming DVBViewer versions.

 

- Fix: DVB-C transponder lists created with File -> New List weren't marked as DVB-C internally, causing some follow-up issues (no export possible after a blind scan, the list appeared as DVB-S after re-launching TransEdit...)

 

- Fix: Changing the tuner type of a transponder list didn't reset the blind scan parameter ranges to the appropriate default for the new tuner type.

 

- Changed: A blind scan doesn't include a NIT scan anymore, even if Settings -> Scanner1 -> Scan NIT and update transponder list while scanning is ticked.

 

- Fix: TransEdit didn't remember the last selected DVB-S transponder correctly after a restart if there was another transponder with the same frequency, but a different polarisation.

 

- Added: "Service" column in the Analyzer PID list, displaying the name of the service resp. channel to which the stream belongs, if the PMT assignes it to a service.

 

You may have to enlarge the Analyzer Window horizontally in order to see the new column.

 

- Removed: Tooltips showing the channel/service name in the PID List.

 

- Fix: The Analyzer didn't remember the last sort column/order correctly after being relaunched.

 

- Added: General Tab in the Settings Window for options applying to the Scanner and the Analyzer.

 

- Enhanced: Changed settings on the Settings -> General/Analyzer Tabs now take effect after clicking Restart in the Analyzer Window (previously only after clicking Analyze in the Main Window).

 

- Added: Full ATSC support in the Analyzer.

 

It can be used now for terrestrial and cable broadcasts in the USA, which basically means: The Analyzer detects ATSC stream types and displays ATSC SI tables like Master Guide Table (MGT), Virtual Channel Table (VCT), Rating Region Table (RRT), Event Information Tables (EIT), Extended Text Tables (ETT) etc. and all contained elements (descriptors and such) in the tree view on the left side.

 

The Analyzer switches to ATSC mode if

 

- the tuner type of a transponder list is ATSC

- it auto-detects ATSC SI tables in a TS file

- Settings-> General -> Assume ATSC when scanning a TS file is ticked.

 

Please note: I can't receive ATSC broadcasts, so I had to test it with several TS samples, transponder dumps etc. Unfortunately they didn't contain all elements that the Analyzer is supposed to handle. So please let me know if you encounter bugs, gaps, discrepancies or other flaws, and provide a TS sample file containing the elements that are not handled correctly, if possible.

 

- Added: "Read Private Sections with known table ID" checkbox on the Settings -> Analyzer Tab.

 

If this option is switched on, the Analyzer tree view shows additional service information tables on some transponders, particularly

 

- the AIT (Application Information Table) informing about Java based MHP data broadcasts (Multimedia Home Platform).

 

- the "private" freesat tables on Astra/Eurobird 28° East, provided the table type is known to the Analyzer. You can recognize them by the high PID numbers (in contrast to the two-digit PID numbers of normal SI tables).

 

Please note: If you want to inspect the freesat EIT (EPG data), Settings -> Analyzer -> Read EIT for other transponders/networks must be ticked. However, this option increases the CPU power and RAM requirements dramatically when analyzing certain transponders, particularly Eurobird 11427 H (ITV HD), where a 3.4 MBit/s EIT stream may put your PC under stress. Processing all details of EPG data covering channels on about 40 transponders will generate more than a million tree view entries within 15 seconds and require up to 1 GB RAM. If the memory usage exceeds 95% the Analyzer will put on the emergency break and refuse to collect more "EIT - Other" data. On other Astra 28° East transponders, where the freesat EIT stream is restricted to 34 kbit/s, it may take some time until the "EIT - Other" entry appears in the tree view, and quite a long time until the EPG data is complete.

 

- Added: Processing of additional descriptors which were not known to the Analyzer before, among them the FTA content management descriptor that occasionally shows up in the ITV HD PMT (Program Map Table) as "broadcast flag", reflecting the broadcaster's intention for HD content protection.

 

- Changed: Even if Settings -> Analyzer -> Read Extended Event Descriptors is unticked (a measure to lower memory consumption), Extended Event Descriptor entries will show up in the EIT sections of the Analyzer tree view, but they will remain empty... just for letting you know that they are there.

 

- Enhanced: The Analyzer Hex Viewer. It doesn't let you wait anymore until the preset number of TS packets has arrived, but starts displaying them immediately and updates itself each second until the buffer is filled.

 

- Enhanced: Color marking in the Hex Viewer. The marking for SI tables now also applies to private sections. Gray background additionally marks the ISO defined beginning resp. header of a SI section (3 or 8 bytes dependent on the section syntax), which is the same for all SI tables.

 

- Enhanced: General optimisation and restructuring of the Analyzer code, several minor fixes.

 

- Updated: Transponder lists for Astra 19°/23°/28° East, Hotbird 13° East.

 

- Not added (sorry): Evaluation of the MIP (Mega-frame Initialization Packet) used for synchronisation of terrestrial SFN networks (PID 0x15), as requested here. The MIP doesn't comply with the ISO syntax for SI tables/descriptors and can't be processed with the existing Analyzer code, thus requiring expensive extra measures. Maybe I will go about it later.

TransEdit 3.5.1 is available in the members area.

 

- Added: "Show Path to Current Node" option in the context menu of the Analyzer treeview.

 

Lets an additional panel at the bottom (dis-)appear, showing the path to to current node, in case you got lost in the depth of a tree with thousands of entries. If this option is switched on, the path to the current node shows up as soon as you select an entry in the third or a deeper tree level - that's where navigation may get a bit awkward. You may also use the path for returning to one of the selected node's ancestors by clicking on it. Clicking the panel's title area switches the option off.

 

- Added: Unicode support in the Analyzer (not yet in the Scanner), with a lot of help from Lars. Particularly Russian & Eastern European channel names and EPG data should now be displayed correctly.

 

- Enhanced: Modulation and FEC 9/10 are read correctly from KingOfSat transponder lists.

 

- Added: Auto-detection of K-World (appearing as "DigiGo") and Prof DVB-S/S2 devices including DiSEqC 1.2 support. In case of a TransEdit update please perform Settings -> Hardware -> Detect Devices.

TransEdit 3.5.2 is available in the members area.

 

- Enhanced: The scanner now displays Russian channel names correctly (only on Russian PCs!). Thanks to evgen_ln for providing an ISO 8859-5 -> CP_1251 character translation table.

 

Please note: Exported scan results will be displayed correctly in DVBViewer as well, but you have to watch out for potential issues... read more about it here.

 

- Fix: The Hexdump Window didn't receive null packets (PID 0x1FFF).

 

- Fix: Pressing the Alt key caused some control elements (buttons, checkboxex) to disappear under Vista & Windows 7.

TransEdit 3.5.3 is available in the members area.

 

- Fix: DiSEqC 1.2 support for Digital Devices cards didn't work as expected (now tested and proved as working).

 

- Added: Unicable EN 50494 support for Digital Devices cards (Cine S2, Satix S2 Dual, tested and proved as working).

 

Please note: The software shipped with Digital Devices cards may include a Unicable configuration tool for the driver (applies to the Cine S2 card). It enables Unicable reception in a way that is transparent to the DVB application, which means, the application doesn't have to handle it and doesn't have to know that the card is connected to a Unicable Router (Sat SCR). Don't configure the driver and DVBViewer/TransEdit for Unicable. This will cause confusion. Configure the driver or DVBViewer/TransEdit for Unicable, but not both!

 

- Added: DiSEqC 1.2 support for Anysee DVB-S/S2 devices (untested). In case of a TransEdit update please perform Settings -> Hardware -> Detect Devices.

 

- Fix: In case of a DVB device with a known vendor, followed by a device with an unknown vendor in the device list, the TransEdit device detection assigend a (wrong) Vendor ID to the latter instead of 0.

 

- Changed: The TransEdit Scanner now accepts different transportstream IDs in the PAT and SDT, if (and only if) the transportstream ID in the PAT is zero, assuming that it has not been set by the broadcaster. The change enables retrieving channel names from the SDT in this very case, so the channels are not listed as "Service xxxx" anymore.

 

If the transportstream ID in the PAT and the SDT differ in some other way (e.g. due to corrupted data), the SDT is ignored and no channel names are retrieved.

I've re-uploaded TransEdit to the members area (now version 3.5.4) due to a bug that has slipped in lately. It is not critical, but annoying:

 

- Fix: If the Analyzer was already active, thus occupying a DVB device, the attempt to analyze a different transponder requiring the same device caused the error message "The device is already occupied". So for each transponder change the Analyzer Window had to be closed first.

TransEdit 3.6.0 is available in the new members area. Please read here how you can access this members area (if you don't already know...).

 

Please additionally download the TrandEdit manual from the new members area (storing both files in the same folder as TransEdit.exe enables a context sensitive help with F1), or read it online here: English Deutsch

 

- Changed/Enhanced: BDA hardware detection system. It can be updated with a hardware data base file, if required. Such updates will be provided in future, if TransEdit doesn't recognize that a (new) DVB device resp. driver can be handled with already existing code. It will not cover devices requiring a new kind of handling, however.

 

This data base system will be used in future by all our software accessing DVB hardware. TransEdit 3.6.0 can be regarded a test case. The new detection system covers a lot of additional DVB hardware/driver variants, thus being more complete than before.

 

- Added: DPI-awareness. TransEdit 3.6.0 enlarges windows and fonts according to the Windows DPI (Dots Per Inch) settings, thus adapting to the increasing resolution of PC displays. Previously the TransEdit design was 96 DPI-fixed. Now, e.g. in case of 120 DPI, all windows and fonts will be 25% larger.

 

The font and font/window size can also be configured individually for TransEdit. A configuration tool will be provided later.

 

Please note: TransEdit.exe contains DPI awareness information for Windows Vista / 7. Due to a bug in Windows XP SP2 it may cause a system crash (blue sceen or reboot). If you encounter this issue, please update to Windows XP SP3.

 

- Added: Support for Genpix DVB-S devices (including DiSEqC 1.0 / 1.1 / 1.2).

 

- Enhanced: The analyzer shows PMT PIDs in the service sections, even if the PMT is not present or not readable.

TransEdit 3.6.2 is available in the new members area:

Seems yesterday wasn't a good day for a TransEdit release ;) The final checks were interrupted by phone calls, visitors etc., and some things went wrong. So here we go again:

 

TransEdit has been updated to version 3.6.3 in the new members area:

 

- Fix: The Analyzer displayed the channel number instead of the Service ID in the Logical Channel Descriptor.

 

- Fix: The Astra 19°E transponder list was supposed to be updated, but wasn't after all...

TransEdit 3.6.4 is available in the new members area, particularly with enhancements of the "Dead Channels" function. It displays channels from the DVBViewer channellist that the scanner can't find anymore, and allows to delete them.

 

- Fix: TransEdit did not remove channels from the Dead Channels Window when they were found on a subsequent (re-)scan of a transponder.

 

- Enhanced: The scanner searches more thoroughly for "Dead Channels". Restrictions (due to compatibility with old DVBViewer versions) preventing TransEdit from detecting all "Dead Channels" have been removed.

 

- Added: The Dead Channels Window displays the number of entries and a X mark in the frequency column if the transponder in question deliveres no scan results at all. In case of a TransEdit update you may need to adjust the window and frequency column width because TransEdit will use the previous layout stored in the file TransEdit.ini.

 

- Enhanced: The Analyzer occupies less memory due to a reorganization of internal data structures. Particularly if "Read EIT for other transponders / networks" is switched on the measures may lower memory consumption by 100 MB and more.

 

- Enhanced: When the end of an analyzed TS file is reached, the Restart Button in the Analyzer Window lets TransEdit read the file again from the beginning - useful if a short sample gives no opportunity to open the Hex Dump Window in time. Now, after clicking the Restart Button, an already opened Hex Dump window will receive data.

 

- Removed: Settings -> Analyzer -> Max. Recording Buffer Size. It is handled automatically now.

 

- Fix: In certain cases the Analyzer assigned a wrong network name to the original network ID (more about it here).

 

- Fix: The Analyzer function "Copy as XML" didn't work in case of a transponder/file name containing country-specific (non-ASCII) characters.

TransEdit 3.7.0 is available in the new members area:

 

- New: Full DVB IPTV support (Scanner, Analyzer and Preview), based on code provided by Lars.

 

IPTV support was already available in a TransEdit IPTV test version (see members area, beta section), that has become outdated in the meantime. However, the test version will remain available for some time, in case comparative tests are necessary. Preferably use the main TransEdit version for IPTV from now on. Feedback is welcome!

 

Changes compared to the TransEdit IPTV test version:

 

- Added: Import of IPTV playlists (*.m3u files), that are available in the web for the VideoLAN Client (VLC), e. g. here and here. They are automatically converted to IPTV transponder lists.

 

Simply drag and drop the playlist file into the TransEdit Main Window, and use "Save as" for storing the resulting transponderlist file in the Configuration Folder\Transponders subdirectory, in order to make it available for DVBViewer and to let TransEdit load it automatically when it is launched.

 

- Fix: Handling of IPTV streams with extended RTP headers.

 

- Changed: The automatically created (virtual) IPTV device is not listed under Settings -> Hardware anymore. The IPTV settings are available on the Settings -> General tab.

 

 

General changes:

 

- Fix: Some flaws in the support for creating / editing IPTV transponder lists (already available in previous TransEdit versions, but not really elaborated).

 

- Added: In case of DVB-C/T, ATSC and IPTV transponder lists the tuner type is displayed in the "Position" column of the main window. Clicking the "Position" column title sorts the transponder lists by tuner type.

 

- Fix/Changed: Some adjustments in the UI (partly due to ITPV support).

TransEdit has been updated to version 3.7.1 in the members area.

 

- Fix: Detecting wrong symbolrates in the DVBViewer channellist and updating them didn't work.

TransEdit 3.7.2 is available in the members area:

 

- Fix: The Dead Channels function in the scanner window didn't work correctly for other tuner types than DVB-S.

 

- Changed: New icons in the Analyzer Treeview, facilitating navigation by signalling the hierarchy level / node type with different colors and initial letters.

 

- Removed: Settings -> Scanner2 -> Tuner lock timeout.

 

It only applied to TechniSat devices with WDM driver anyway. Please use the PAT timeout value if you want to let the scanner wait more or less longer for data. Waiting for a tuner lock timeout turned out to be disadvantageous.

 

- Added: Settings -> Hardware -> Null packet filter checkbox for TechniSat Devices with WDM driver.

 

Decides whether null TS packets (for filling unused bandwidth) are removed by a hardware PID filter or not. The TransEdit Analyzer needs the null packets for displaying the correct transponder data rate. Switching the filter off may cause bandwidth issues (missing packets) with older TechniSat devices (e.g. SkyStar 2, SkyStar S2) on transponders with a high data rate. If you own a SkyStar USB HD, you can switch the filter safely off.

 

- Changed/Optimized: Internal handling of TechniSat devices with WDM driver.

 

It may affect DiSEqC (here it doesn't). If you encounter such issues after updating to TransEdit 3.7.2, please post it in the forum, and then we'll see what we can do.

 

- Fix: Problem with transponder names containing a colon ( : ) in XML exports.

 

- Added: DiSEqC support for Omicom DVB-S2 PCI.

TransEdit 3.8.0 is available in the members area.

 

Changes in the Analyzer:

 

- Changed: Resizing the window now changes the width of the left part (treeview), not the width of the right part. Moving the splitter between the left and right section doesn't change the window width anymore.

 

- Enhanced: Less CPU load due to a more efficient data transfer from the streaming to the UI thread, particularly if a lot of EPG data is received.

 

- Enhanced: PMT nodes don't collapse anymore on a PMT version change.

 

- Fix: Wrong display of east Asian characters.

 

- Fix: Two nasty bugs concerning ATSC.

 

 

Changes in the Preview / Preview Settings

Analyzer Changes

 

- Added: Settings -> Analyzer -> Auto-restart on PAT version change.

 

Untick this checkbox if the Analyzer gets unusable due to rapid and continuous (probably erroneous) version changes of the received Program Association Table causing permanent restarts.

 

- Fix: Wrong handling of ATSC Extended Text Tables (ETT). Parts were not displayed.

 

- Enhanced: ATSC auto-detection, particularly when analyzing TS files without ATSC-specific service information tables like MGT or VCT.

 

- Fix: The Preview function coudn't be accessed in the treeview context menu if a service ID node outside the PAT node was selected (since 3.8.0).

If this checkbox is ticked, TransEdit lets the driver detect the modulation, regardless of the modulation (QAM16...QAM256) set in the TransEdit Main Window. Change this setting if tuning does not work reliably.

 

- Changed: Settings -> Hardware -> Unicable Settings is now available for all DVB-S/S2 devices providing the minimum requirements (DiSEqC raw commands) for communicating with Unicable routers.

 

However, if a device does not allow to fulfill the EN 50494 specifications properly, TransEdit displays a warning before opening the configuration dialog. In this case it depends on the tolerance of the Unicable router if it works or not.

 

- Added: Support for HDHomeRun devices, including PID filtering (correct functioning still to be verified).

Please note: In case of a TransEdit update some of the changes will only take effect after performing Settings -> Hardware -> Detect Devices.

 

- Enhanced: Unicable support, particularly for DVB-S/S2 devices that don't allow full Unicable compliance.

 

The basic requirement for Unicable support is a driver providing an interface for sending DiSEqC raw commands. This is fulfilled by all DiSEqC 1.2 capable DVB-S/S2 devices. Additionaly a (known) interface for directly changing the LNB voltage (without tuning) is required. If it is not available TransEdit now performs the necessary voltage changes by dummy tuning. However, this method slows down channel switching and may exceed the Unicable timing constraints. It is not guaranteed to work in all cases (though here it works quite well with an Inverto Unicable LNB and different devices).

 

In case of a device that does not allow to fulfill the EN 50494 specifications properly, TransEdit displays a warning before opening the Unicable configuration dialog. Devices regarded by TransEdit as fully Unicable compliant are currently: Digital Devices (above all), FireDTV, TechnoTrend and DVBSky.

 

- Added: Unicable collision detection. The scanner will not accept data in this case and auto-retune if Settings -> Hardware -> Retune Attempts is greater than zero.

 

A Unicable collision occurs if two receivers try to send a ChannelChange DiSEqC command to the Unicable router at the same time. Frequency switching failure in the router results in no data arriving at all, or even worse, still data from the previous transponder (depending on the transponder parameters). In this case a scanner may assign the wrong frequency to channels, thus messing up the channellist. TransEdit is now able to prevent such a desaster.

 

- Fix: Work-around for the "Initializing the device has failed" error under Windows 7, caused by a buggy Microsoft component that tries to create registry keys without sufficient access rights (thus requiring to run TransEdit once with administrator rights).

 

In "Use internal Network Provider filter off" mode (see hardware settings) TransEdit now uses the new MS Universal Network Provider filter (introduced with Vista/Windows 7), that does not show this issue. Additionally "Use internal Network Provider filter on" has become the default setting for new TransEdit installations, which avoids the error as well. However, it may still occur in "Use standard interface on" mode.

 

- Added: Pilot symbols auto-detection when receiving DVB-S2 channels resp. transponders with Hauppauge devices.

 

DVB-S2 tuning will now succeed with wrong Pilot Symbols settings (though it takes a bit longer). The scanner automatically corrects wrong or missing Pilot Symbol settings in the transponder list (particularly in KingOfSat transponder lists).

 

- Added: DiSEqC 1.2 support for TechniSat SkyStar eXpress HD with WDM/Network driver.

 

- Enhanced: DiSEqC 1.2 support for TechniSat SkyStar eXpress HD and SkyStar USB HD with BDA driver. Now it also works under Windows XP.

 

Please note: Due to the design of the BDA DiSEqC interface for these TechniSat devices command sequences (consisting of more than one DiSEqC command) will not work. Please use the WDM/Network driver in this case.

 

- Fix: With AzureWave based DVB-S/S2 devices (TechniSat SkyStar HD2, Cinergy S2 PCI HD and others) the Positioner Console only worked if the Analyzer was running at the same time.

 

- Changed: Handling of TBS DiSEqC interfaces (since the implementation in TBS/Prof drivers is quite confusing). TransEdit first verifies that the interface specified in the hardware database exists. If not, TransEdit tries to auto-detect the interface.

 

- Updated: Hardware database.

 

 

Scanner changes:

 

- Changed: The acoustic signal on finishing "Scan All" was replaced by the Windows information sound. If the scan is cancelled manually TransEdit does not play a sound anymore.

 

- Changed: Color signalling (PAT/PMT/SDT/NIT fields) with the following meaning:

 

Red: Reading the according service information table failed. It did not arrive or was corrupted.

 

Yellow: Reading the table is in progress, or (new) the table could not be read completely due to a timeout (see Settings -> Scanner2) or incomplete broadcast.

 

Green: Reading the according service information table succeeded.

 

Black caption on bright background: Result of the currently scanned transponder

 

White caption on dark background: Result of the previously scanned transponder.

 

- Enhanced: Closing / shutdown behaviour. In case of an ongoing scan TransEdit couldn't be closed at once. First scanner windows were closed, and then, requiring a second attempt, the application. This is fixed now. Additionally settings are saved more reliably on system shutdown / log off when TransEdit is running.

 

- Enhanced/Changed: Faster NIT scan (according to code by Lars). However, tests showed that even with this speed-up reading the complete NIT (Network Information Table) may take up to 15 seconds on several Astra 19° East transponders. That's why the default NIT timeout (see Settings -> Scanner2) has been changed to 15000 ms. It will take effect in new TransEdit installations.

 

 

General changes:

 

- Fix: The Paste command in the TransEdit Main Window caused an access violation if one of the transponders from the clipboard already existed in the transponder list.

 

- Fix: Menu shortcuts are now displayed in English notation (instead of the German "Umsch" or "Strg").

 

- Fix: Greyed Info -> Help menu item though the helpfile TransEdit.chm is present.

 

- Updated: Transponder lists for Astra 19°/23°/28° and Hotbird 13° East.

Sorry - I've just re-uploaded TransEdit 3.8.2 because a conditional define for EMPIA-based DVB-C USB devices was set wrongly.

 

If you own such a device, please download again.

 

Update: All should download again and delete the file BDADevices.dat that a previous TransEdit 3.8.2 version has created in the TransEdit directory (where TransEdit.exe is).

TransEdit 3.8.3 is available in the members area:

 

- Fix: Scanning of some transponders could fail with devices/drivers that still deliver data from the previous transponder after tuning.

 

- Fix: The XML Analyzer export now avoids XML element names with leading digits (which are not valid XML) by adding an underscore character, if necessary.

 

- Fix: The TransEdit version number wasn't written to the TransEdit.ini file.

TransEdit 3.8.4 is available in the members area.

 

Scanner Changes:

 

- Fix: A NIT scan resp. the transponder list update function failed if the PAT (Program Allocation Table) does not specify a NIT PID (Network Information Table). Observed with the German cable provider "Kabel Deutschland". TransEdit did not use the default PID intended for this case.

 

- Fix: The transponder list update function didn't distinguish satellite transponders with the same frequency, but a different polarization.

 

- Fix: The "Scan TS File" function didn't work properly anymore due to changes in TransEdit 3.8.2.

 

- Enhanced: Conversion of DVB resp. ISO character sets (used for channel and broadcaster names) to the local Windows codepage, thus avoiding garbage names as far as possible.

 

TransEdit now converts the names to Unicode (as the Analyzer already did before) by using the appropriate Windows codepages for the DVB/ISO character sets. Then the names are converted to the local Windows codepage for non-unicode applications, since the Scanner / DVBViewer channel management does not handle Unicode yet. Possible results are:

 

- If the required characters are available in the Windows codepage for non-unicode applications, the names are displayed correctly.

 

- If characters are not available, replacement characters are used if possible (e.g. a for â). In this case the names are not displayed correctly, but remain readable.

 

- If no replacement character is available, the character is substituted by a question mark.

 

- If the required codepage (resp. *.nls file in Windows\System32) for translating the ISO/DVB character set used by the broadcaster is not installed, TransEdit falls back to displaying the name without any conversion according to the Windows codepage for non-unicode applications. This may yield correct results (in case of pure ASCII names) or garbage.

 

 

Analyzer Changes:

 

- Fix: Wrong conversion of the Big5 character set (traditional Chinese) to Unicode.

 

- Fix: The PID list did not assign service names to streams containing private sections.

 

- Fix: TransEdit ignored the "Hex" checkbox when updating entries in the SI treeview.

 

- Added: The "Select Main SI PIDs" function in the PID list context menu additionally selects the NIT (Network Information Table).

 

- Added: Parsing of ISO MPEG4 Audio Descriptor, DVB C2 Delivery System Descriptor, DVB Video Depth Range Descriptor.

Hardware Changes:

 

- Added: Support for band stacking (DishPro LNBs, US single cable distribution).

 

To enable band stacking support, enter LOF1 and LOF2 in the TransEdit Main Window as required, e.g. 11250 and 14350 MHz, and set LOFSW to 0 (22 kHz signal off) or 1 (22 kHz signal on). This will let TransEdit take care of the polarization-dependent local oscillator frequency.

 

Please note: Band stacking support is not implemented in DVBViewer yet (up to and including GE 3.1.2 and Pro 4.9.6). Scan results exported from TransEdit may or may not work, because DVBViewer will still use vertical polarization (14 V LNB voltage) for vertically polarized transponders on tuning, instead of horizontal polarization (18 V) troughout. Manual adjustments are probably required. Band stacking support will be added gradually in the next versions. Don't adjust the LOF settings in DVBViewer until full support is announced in the ChangeLog.

 

- Fix: Potential DiSEqC problems with new KNC cards.

 

- Added: DiSEqC 1.2 support for Compro devices (untested)

 

- Updated: Hardware database.

 

 

Other Changes:

TransEdit 3.8.5 is available in the members area.

 

- Enhanced: During runtime TransEdit remembers the scroll state and selected entry of each transponder list. After selecting a different transponder list on the left side of the main window and returning to the previous one, its display state on the right side is restored (does not apply to multi-selection).

 

- Enhanced: On Undo / Reload the selected transponder remains selected, if possible.

 

- Enhanced: Detection of leftover buffered data originating from a previously received transponder, thus avoiding wrong results.

 

Tests revealed that certain devices (e.g. TBS 6925 and TechnoTrend S2-3200) tend to initially deliver data from a previously received transponder even after being released and re-initialized. Now both the Scanner and Analyzer are able to detect this case and to perform a one-time automatic restart on an unexpected data change.

 

- Added: The Scanner examines additional SDT sections (appearing as "SDT - Other" in the Analyzer) in order to retrieve Dish Networks (USA) channel names, since no "SDT -Actual" for the actual transponder is broadcasted.

 

The old "SDTO=1" tweak in the transponder list file is not required anymore. However, the SDT timout on Settings -> Scanner2 must still be set to a considerably high value (e.g. 60000 ms = 1 minute).

 

- Changed: The Settings -> Scanner2 tab now allows to enter timeout values above 32700 ms (previously restricted by the Updown Button component).

 

- Added: Settings -> General -> Assumed broadcast standard -> Unicode Big5. Some Chinese broadcasters encode traditional characters as original Big5, some as Unicode (e.g. Taiwan DVB-T), both with the same "Big5" character set designation. Try "Unicode Big5" if the Scanner or Analyzer display garbage instead of proper Chinese text.

 

- Fix: Saving settings deleted the "LNBOff.x=1" tweak in the file TransEdit.ini.

 

- Fix: The "Set Group" setting wasn't stored for other than satellite transponder lists.

 

- Fix: In case of a taskbar docked to the top or left side of the screen TransEdit windows moved up / to the left on each TransEdit start.

TransEdit 3.8.6 is available in the members area

 

- Fix: TransEdit wrongly displayed a "device occupied" message if no DVB-S2 device is available, the first transponder in the list is a DVB-S2 transponder and a selection only containing DVB-S transponders is to be scanned.

 

- Fix: The scanner did not detect channel/provider names correctly if "Unicode Big5" was selected as assumed broadcast standard (applies to Taiwan DVB-T, see here).

 

- Added: Handling of Japanese channel/provider names in the scanner. They will be displayed correctly, if "Japan" is installed as language for non-unicode applications in Windows (see TransEdit 3.8.4 release notes for further details). In most cases it will be necessary to additionally select Settings -> Assumed broadcast standard -> ISDB Japan in TransEdit.

 

Please note: If a DVBViewer scan yields garbage channel/provider names, but the TransEdit Scanner displays them correctly, they can be exported to the DVBViewer channellist by ticking the "Settings -> Scanner 1 -> Update channel names in the DVBViewer channellist" checkbox and using the "Add/Update" or "Update All" function in the Scanner Window (see manual). The exported names will be displayed correctly in DVBViewer.

 

- Changed: The Analyzer treeview now divides the EIT (Event Information Table containing EPG data) into four sections

TransEdit 3.9.0 is available in the members area:


General Changes


- Added: Marker in the column titles of the TransEdit Main Window, Scanner Window and Dead Channels Window indicating by which column and in which direction (ascending / descending) the lists are sorted.

- Changed: Menus are now displayed in the grey DVBViewer menu style.

- Fix: The "Skip [X]-marked transponders on Scan All" setting was ignored on selected transponders.

- Fix: Problems with DVB devices blocking the TransEdit for a longer time on initialization or tuning. Windows were displayed incompletely during this time and didn't become the foreground window as intended.

- Fix: After changing transponder list properties (DiSEqC, Orbital Position, LOFs etc) and performing Undo/Reload the left side of the Main Window still displayed the previous values.

Settings Changes

- Added: "LNB power off on release" checkbox on the Hardware Tab. It is only available for DVB-S devices that allow to switch the LNB power off by software. Tick this checkbox if you want TransEdit to switch the power off when the device is released (= no more used).


Scanner Changes


- New: The reworked scanner engine is able to perform multiple scans simultaneously. More than one scanner window can be busy at the same time. Of course it depends on the number of available tuners. Each ongoing scan needs a tuner on its own. So if you have two DVB-S tuners, you may start an Astra scan and then, before it is finished, additionally a Hotbird scan in a second Scanner Window.

- New: The Scanner Window is able to display the content of channel lists that were previously exported as INI files. Simply drag & drop the file on the TransEdit Icon or the TransEdit Main Window. TransEdit autmatically recognizes whether it is a channel or transponder list and responds accordingly.

This function allows to rework channel lists stored as INI files by filtering and sorting them in a different way. All functions of the scanner window are available except "Dead Channels" and "Analyze". Please note: TransEdit reads the tuner type and (in case of satellite) the orbital position of the first entry and - on behalf of consistency - subsequently only imports channels with the same tuner type and orbital position. Others are discarded.

- Added: The Scanner Window adds a new field named "Provider" to INI channel list exports, which is ignored by DVBViewer. However, when TransEdit (re-)loads such a list and finds the "Provider" field, it will adopt it and ignore the "Category" field, thus enabling re-categorization. In this case you will see "Provider" in the according column title (just like on a scan), otherwise "Category".

- Added: Analyze command in the context menu of the Scanner Window, allowing to analyze the selected frequency resp. transponder.

- Enhanced: The scanner preferably uses a DVB device already occupied by an Analyzer or Preview Window if only the respective transponder is to be scanned.

- Changed: Recognition of channels that are already present in the DVBViewer's channellist. Channels with matching Video and Audio PID, but different Service ID now additionally require a matching name for being recognized as "already present". With other words: If there is no sufficiently matching scan result for such a channel it will appear in the Dead Channels Window.

- Added: The list in the Dead Channels Window can now be sorted in different ways by clicking on the column titles.


Preview Changes


- Added/Changed: Besides a new "Full Screen" item (providing the shortcut F for switching full screen on/off) the context menu of Preview Windows now contains two sub-menus:

- "Aspect Ratio" allowing to select and change the aspect ratio manually.

- "Filters" allowing to view the DirectShow filters used for playback and to open their property pages, if available. The DVBViewer Filter's property page can be opened by pressing [D] on the keybord.

- Added: In full screen mode the Preview Window prevents screen savers and monitor off energy options from interrupting the show.

- Fix: E-AC3 audio playback didn't work when the Preview function was called from the Analyzer.

- Fix:: Under certain circumstances playback started with maximum volume instead of the last volume.


Analyzer Changes


- Removed: Table Statistics checkbox in the Analyzer Window. The associated panel was just a section counter with little informative value. The next version will provide a more sophisticated Table Stats function.

- Changed: The Preview Button has been moved to the right side of the Analyzer Window. Its function is now identical with the Preview item in the context menu of the PID List.

- Added: Table ID and Section Number in the Event ID nodes within the EIT.

- Enhanced: Event ID nodes within the EIT Schedule are sorted chronologically, so that they are easier to find.

- Fix: Wrong component type description in the Component Descriptor in case of StreamContent = 2 and ComponentType = 72. .

- Changed: StreamContent and ComponentType in the component Descriptor are now displayed as hex values.

- Fix: Wrong PAT stream type display in the PID list if the broadcaster uses PID 0 in the PMT.

TransEdit 3.9.0 has been replaced by TransEdit 3.9.1 in the members area:

- Fix: TransEdit didn't remember the last selected frequency in DVB-T/C and ATSC transponder lists after being closed and relaunched.

- Fix: Viewing an INI channel list in a Scanner Window could leave "Category" as default in the Export -Settings -> Category Dropdown List, which is meaningless for scan results.

- Fix: Some minor corrections.

TransEdit 3.9.1 is supposed to be the official stable release for normal usage as DVBViewer add-on, and I want it to be as bug-free as possible before we come to the easter egg :) (see below).

TransEdit 4.0 Beta is available im the members area, beta section

Please note: TransEdit 4.0 is released as beta version mainly because there are several new features that are not described in the manual yet. All I can provide for now are the short descriptions below. Particularly the Analyzer extensions require insight into DVB and other technical specifications. New features like drag & drop export of scan results to the DVBViewer channellist or multiple Preview Windows require that you know what you do. TransEdit won't prevent you from using the functions wrongly.

TransEdit 4.0 is only recommended for experienced users and experts, not for beginners. You use it at your own risk! If you are not sure what the new features are about, rather keep it simple and stay with TransEdit 3.9.x.


General Changes

- New: TransEdit Window Manager. TransEdit 4.0 allows to cover your desktop with scores of windows. The Windows Manager helps to keep track of them by displaying all open TransEdit Windows and their dependencies in a treeview. The Manager Window can be opened and closed from other TransEdit Windows by pressing F12 or by clicking "TransEdit Windows" in the system menu.

The Window Manager Window allows to minimize, maximize, restore and close single windows, groups of windows (e.g. all Preview or all Scanner Windows) or the whole application. Right-click the according item in the Window Manager and select the command in the context menu. Left-click an item to bring a single window or a group of windows to the foreground.

- Enhanced/Changed: Satellite frequencies are internally processed as kHz, no longer as MHz, thus enabling more precise tuning, which may be important for low bandwidth transponders. The change implies several consequences:

- In the TransEdit Main Window satellite frequencies are still entered and displayed as MHz, but with up to three decimal places (e.g. 11082.75).
- Satellite frequencies are stored in transponder lists as kHz instead of MHz, e.g. 11024000 instead of 11024. Current DVBViewer and previous TransEdit versions are able to auto-detect the unit and convert the values back to rounded MHz when reading them. Similarly TransEdit 4.0 automatically converts MHz values to kHz, so there should be no compatibility issues.
- For compatibility reasons TransEdit 4.0 still stores satellite frequencies as rounded MHz when exporting scan results as INI, CSV or directly to the DVBViewer channellist. Though current DVBViewer versions are able to auto-detect the unit, plugins and add-ons may not be aware of it.
- The Scanner and Analyzer do not round frequencies from the Network Information Table (NIT) to full MHz anymore. After performing a transponder list update resp. NIT scan your transponder list will probably contain frequencies with a fractional part, indicating the exact center frequency, provided the NIT is right.
- The Blind Scanner is able to scan a frequency range with a smaller step size. E.g. you may enter 10744-10745:0.1 for 100 kHz steps.

Settings Changes

- Added: The "Open in a new window if possible" checklistbox on the General Tab allows to specify separately for different window types whether (ticked:) TransEdit shall open a new window when the according function is called or (unticked:) re-use a window that has already been opened for this purpose before.

Please note: You can reverse the set-up behaviour by holding the shift key down when selecting the function. In certain cases TransEdit will not open a new window, even if told so, because there is no DVB hardware available for an additional window, or because a window already displays the requested content. In this case TransEdit will put the window to the foreground, thus notifying you that you already have what you want. Please also refer to the TransEdit Window Manager described in the "General Changes" section.

- New: Teletext Tab with teletext settings that apply to the Teletext Analyzer and the teletext subtitles displayed in the Preview Window. In detail:

- "Font" selects the teletext font.
- "Use PMT for automatic character set selection": If this checkbox is ticked, TransEdit tries to resolve the ambiguity of the teletext character set information by reading the language from the PMT. If available it overrides the user defined preferences (see below).
- "Character set preferences": Lets you decide which country specific character set shall be applied. Each section of the checklistbox contains a group of languages ambiguously specified by the teletext national option bits. E.g. a certain bit pattern may specify English, Polish or Serbian. Select the one that you want to be applied in case of doubt.

Scanner Changes

 

- New: Simplified export of channels and channel lists as INI file. Select the to be exported entries in the list of scan results and drag & drop them on any location that accepts files, e.g. the Windows Explorer, NotePad... or the DVBViewer Pro Channellist Editor resp. the DVBViewer GE Channelist.

Please note: This drag & drop features enables a very convenient transfer of scan results to the DVBViewer channellist. However, it has to be applied carefully. Don't forget that it is still an INI export / import via a temporary transfer file, influenced by the TransEdit export settings. And there are drawbacks:

- The drag & drop export is not compatible with the Scanner functions that directly write to the DVBViewer channellist (Add/Update, Update All, Delete DVBViewer Channels, Deleting Channels in the Dead Channels Window). Avoid confusion by mixed usage as long as a Scanner Window is open!
- TransEdit doesn't come to know where the drag & drop export goes, so it can't update the "already present" marking of scan results, and it can't prevent double entries in the DVBViewer channelist like the other functions. You have to take care of it!

Preview Changes

 

- New: You may open as many Preview Windows as you like. The number is only limited by the CPU power and - if you want to play channels from different transponders resp. frequencies - by the number of available DVB tuners, of course. However, even with a single tuner it is possible to display 6 TV channels at the same time if they are transmitted on a single transponder, provided your PC is powerful enough. Please refer to the "Settings Changes" and "General Changes" sections for more information.

- New: Preview Windows are able to display the following subtitle types: Teletext, DVB, ISDB, ATSC Captions, BluRay Presentation Graphics. Select the subtitles that you want to see from the Preview Window Context Menu, or right-click the subtitle stream in the Analyzer Window and select "Preview" (doesn't work with teletext).

- Added: Subtitles submenu in the context menu.

Analyzer Changes

 

- New: More sophisticated table statistics function. Right-click the SI table in question or one of its sub-nodes in the Analyzer Treeview and select "Table Stats" from the context menu.

While the Analyzer Main Window focusses on the payload of SI tables, the Table Stats function uses a treeview to show their division into subtables and sections. It displays additional information like Table ID, Section Length, Section Number, Last Section Number, Version Number etc., and constantly updates the section counter, data rate and cycle time for each (sub-)structure, indicating how often it is broadcasted. Please note: TransEdit displays the Section Length "as broadcasted", which means, the number of bytes following the Table ID and Section Length field occupying 3 byte. So the actual section size is Section Length plus 3! The data rate calculation is based on the number of received sections and their size. It doesn't include the TS header or stuffing overhead.

- New: Header Info function, showing the PES Header of Packetized Elementary Streams, and in case of video/audio additionally the content of video/audio headers plus a summary of the main video/audio parameters like resolution, samplerate etc.. Right-click the stream in the PID List that you want to examine, or the according PAT -> Service -> PMT -> ES PID node in the SI Treeview, and select "Header Info" from the context menu.

The Header Info function is able to read the headers of the following video and audio formats: MPEG2, H.264, VC-1, MP2/MP3, AC3, E-AC3, AAC (ADTS and LOAS/LATM), DTS, LPCM.

- New: Teletext Analyzer showing teletext internals. Right-click a teletext stream in the PID List, or a PAT -> Service -> PMT -> Teletext ES PID in the SI Treeview, and select "Teletext/Subtitle Analyzer" from the context menu.

The right side of the Teletext Window displays the teletext in the same way as the DVBViewer Teletext Window and provides the same functionality. The treeview on the left side shows the teletext structure composed of magazines, pages and packets. For each page you can view the presentation time stamp (PTS), the last and average cycle time, control flags, control codes within the text and additional non-displayable packets. If "Update Pages" is ticked, TransEdit updates the treeview content when new page versions arrive. Untick the checkbox if you want the content to remain unchanged while examining it.

- New: Subtitle Analyzer showing the internals of DVB subtitles, ISDB subtitles, ATSC captions (CEA 608 only embedded in MPEG2 Video) and BluRay Presentation Graphics. Right-click the stream containing the subtitles in the PID List, or the according PAT -> Service -> PMT -> ES PID node in the SI Treeview, and select "Teletext/Subtitle Analyzer" from the context menu.

After opening a Subtitle Analyzer Window, its left side collects PES packets and the contained data in a treeview, while the right panel continuously displays the subtitles "live" as they arrive, until the maximum number of PES packets (set up in the PES Packets Input Line) is reached. As soon as you select a treeview entry, the Subtitle Analyzer switches to static mode, constantly showing the subtitles at the selected position (if there are any), thus enabling to check stepwise which data yields which subtitle display. Use the Sub ID Dropdown List to select the subtitle track, if there is more than one encoded in the stream, and click Restart to let new settings take effect.

- New: Search Function in the Hex View Window. Click "Find" to open the Search Panel. Enter a byte sequence as hex digits in the Hex String Input Line and click "Find" to find its next occurence. Or enter a text in the Text String Input Line and click "Find Text". It will convert the text to a byte sequence, showing up in the Hex Input Line, and start the search.

The Mask String Input Line enables entering a hexadecimal byte sequence that specifies which bits in the Hex String Input Line are significant for the search. A zero mask bit lets TransEdit ignore the according Hex String bit when comparing bytes, so it does not matter whether they are equal or not. A one bit marks the according bit in the Hex String as significant. If the Mask String is empty or shorter than the Hex String, all missing mask bytes are set to FF by default, which means, all bits of the according Hex String bytes are compared. You can just leave the Mask String Input Line empty if you don't need masking.

- Added: Another internal File Device (emulating a DVB device), so that two TS files can be examined in two Analyzer Windows at the same time (particularly for comparison).

TransEdit 3.9.1 has been replaced by TransEdit 3.9.2 in the members area:

 

- Hotfix: Under certain circumstances scanning could cause access violations.

 

- Fix: Display quirk in the list of scan results under Windows 7.

 

- Fix: Changing the value in the Settings -> Hardware -> Retune Attempts Input Line didn't activate the Save Button.

 

TransEdit 4.0 Beta, that is affected by the same issues, will be updated later in the members area. There are new features that are still under heavy testing.

 

- Added: The Analyzer is able to detect AVS and H.265 (HEVC) video streams.

- Updated: Transponder lists for Astra 19°/23°/28° East and Hotbird 13° East.

- Fix: Under certain circumstances scanning could cause access violations.

- Removed: IPTV settings on the Settings -> General Tab

Please note: TransEdit doesn't provide an internal (vrtual) IPTV device anymore by default. For receiving IPTV please add an IPTV device on Settings -> Hardware (see below)!

- New: TransEdit is able connect to a SAT>IP resp. RTSP server (e.g. the Recording Service), thus allowing to use a DVB hardware via network that is located somewhere else. For configuring TransEdit as client please add a RTSP device on Settings -> Hardware (see below).

- New: Add and Delete Button on Settings -> Hardware. The Add Button adds virtual devices to the Device List. It opens a Popup Menu offering "DVB IPTV Network Device" and "RTSP Network Device (Sat>IP)". Two or more IPTV resp. RTSP devices can be configured and used at the same time if required. The Delete Button deletes the selected device from the Device List.

- Added: In-place editor in the Device List, allowing to change and customize the names of virtual IPTV/RTSP devices.

- Enhanced: The Device List on Settings -> Hardware can be re-sorted by drag & drop for fine-tuning the priority. TransEdit prefers the topmost device if the "Usage" settings are identical.

- Enhanced: Devices that are set to "Don't use" appear grayed in the Device List.

- New: Several control elements for RTSP (SAT>IP) configuration on Setings -> Hardware. They appear after selection of a RTSP device. Please follow the instructions below:

 

- TransEdit tries to detect suitable RTSP servers automatically. Usually you only need to pick it from the Server Dropdown List, and TransEdit will configure the server IP and port automatically.

- Though the SAT>IP standard has been designed for satellite distribution over a network, the Recordings Service also provides other reception types (DVB-C/T, ATSC) in the same way. All you have to do is to select the according Tuner Type for the RTSP device. However, please note that this proprietary extension is not supported by other SAT>IP servers.

- A SAT>IP client may access the stream without or with PID filtering, which means, it can request the whole transponder stream or only the required part from the server, thus saving network bandwidth. However, some servers only support the PID Filter Mode, which is usually recommendable, except if your network can easily transmit 100 MBit/s and more. The Recording Service supports both modes. For experimental purpose Transedit allows to select the "Whole Transponder" mode by ticking the according checkbox for an RTSP device. It may work or not...

- Please note: The TransEdit Analyzer forces the SAT>IP "Whole Transponder" Mode in any case, because it can't work without it. Therefore the Analyzer will not work correctly or not at all if

1) the SAT>IP server doesn't support this mode.
2) your network can't cope with such a high data rate.
3) the DVB device is configured for hardware PID filtering in the Recording Service (particularly FireDTV, SkyStar 2 and SkyStar S2).

- For scanning with SAT>IP PID Filter Mode it may be necessary to increase the Scanner Timeout Values (see Settings -> Scanner), due to a very low data rate when the scanner is reading the Service Information Tables - it takes longer until buffers are filled and passed on. At least 5000 ms as PAT timeout are recommended. The next Recording Service release will speed up scanning by allowing TransEdit to configure a smaller data packet size (again proprietary).

- UDP/TCP: UDP is the standard protocol for SAT>IP. The Recordings Service also supports TCP as alternative. It is only selectable in TransEdit if the Recordings Service is the server. Usually TCP provides a better robustness against data loss in the network. However, the TCP implementation in the current Recording Service 1.25.00 release still contains some flaws, so the TCP option is not fully recommendable at the moment. It will be considerably enhanced in the next Recording Service release.

- Enhanced: "Scan Progress" section in the Scanner Window. The former frequency and symbolrate fields have been merged to a single field displaying additional parameters of currently scanned DVB-S and DVB-C transponders resp. scan results (modulation system, modulation, FEC).

- Enhanced: Handling of Analyzer Windows. Previously the number of Analyzer Windows was limited by the available DVB devices for a particular tuner type. E.g. with one DVB-S device only one Analyzer Windows showing a DVB-S transponder could be opened, even if opening another window was explicitely requested. Now TransEdit fullfills the request by stopping the Analyzer in the previous window (without closing it) and using the tuner for a new window. This enables comparing the data of two or more transponders with only one tuner. However, only the Analyzer in the last opened window will run in this case.

- Fix: The signal quality in the Analyzer wasn't updated if no data arrived.

- Added: The Analyzer's Header Info function shows the content of AES3 audio headers.

- Enhanced: Layout of the Settings -> Hardware tab, now providing more space for the device list. The special settings for a device class (hardware, RRTSP, IPTV) are highlighted with a contrasting color.

- Fix: Using a RTSP device with the TCP option could cause 100% CPU load if the Recording Service as server was stopped or shut down.

- Removed: Settings -> Hardware -> Stop stream while tuning for RTSP devices, which didn't make sense and could cause failure.

- Changed: The device list rejects empty names for virtual network devices.

- Added: Decrypt function in the Analyzer's context menus. It is only available if the Analyzer uses a RTSP device, the Recording Service is the server and an encrypted service resp. stream is selected (assuming that the RS is able to descramble the service with a CI/CAM).

If decrypting succeeds, the color of the affected streams changes from red to black in the Analyzer, and other functions like Preview can be applied to them. Please note: The Recording Service only allows decryption of a single service per transponder resp. RTSP device. So applying the Decrypt Function to another service will let the first one fall back to the scrambled state again.

- Added: Settings -> General -> Recording Service -> Client priority for tuner allocation. The dropdown list allows to select the TransEdit tuning priority in relation to other Recording Service clients. The default setting is "Server Default". It lets the Recording Service select the priority. The number displayed in brackets is a score in the range 0...100 representing the tuning priority. If there are not enough tuners to satisfy all tune requests the Recording Service compares the client priorities. The client with the highest priority will win. A priority change takes effect immediately, Please note: A client with higher tuning priority may stop ongoing actions in other clients, including recordings, without a warning.

Please note: Currently the priority handling is going through changes. The Recording Service 1.26 and DVBViewer Pro 5.1 are using 0 as default priority. In future the default will be 50 (already assigned to the "normal" setting in TransEdit). In case of equal priority the Recording Service 1.26 always gives preference to the last tune request, so that clients may steal each other the stream in turn. In future the first client occupying a tuner will be regarded as its owner that can only be overruled with higher priority, not with equal priority anymore.

- Added: When using a RTSP device TransEdit responds to the following events:

- The server does not reply within a 1000 ms timeout: TransEdit automatically tries to use another (virtual or hardware) device. The timeout can be influenced by adding a "ConnectionTimeout.x=..." entry for the RTSP device in the [Hardware] section of the file TransEdit.ini, specifying the timeout in milliseconds. x stands for the device number.

- The RTSP server is not able to provide the requested transponder resp. channel: TransEdit displays the error message "The server cannot provide the requested transponder" and stops all operations (particularly a scan) that depend on this network connection.

- The Recording Service is stopped or shut down (only applies if TCP is selected as protocol): TransEdit displays the error message "RTSP connection shut down by Recording Service" and stops all operations that depend on this network connection.

- The Recording Service switches over to another transponder due to a tune request with higher priority: TransEdit displays the error message "The RTSP stream is not available anymore due to a request with higher priority" and stops all operations that depend on this network connection.

- Added: Support for DVB-T and DVB-C with the Digital Devices Octopus NET Server.

- Enhanced: The SAT>IP resp. RTSP handling in general, including several optimizations and fixes. TransEdit adheres more strictly to the SAT>IP specifications if the server is not the Recording Service.

- Updated: Transponder lists for Astra 19° and 28° East, Hotbird 13° East.

 

Thanks to Lars for help, support and code. Without it SAT>IP in TransEdit would not been possible.

Hardware Related Changes


- Fix: Tuning with EMPIA based DVB-C USB devices should work better and faster now.

The following devices may be affected: Elgato EyeTV Hybrid, Hauppauge WinTV HVR 930C, Terratec Cinergy HTC, Terratec H5/H6, PCTV 510/520e, MSI Digivox Trio. Some time ago we introduced a "Force Auto Modulation" option for these DVB-C tuners due to severe tuning issues. Ticking this checkbox usually solves the problem, but causes long channel switching delays, because it lets the driver try all possible modulations until it finds a working one. Please note: Without "Force auto-modulation" the modulation assigned to DVB-C transponders (mostly QAM 64 or QAM 256, sometimes QAM 128) must be correct! So it may be necessary to adjust it.

- Updated: Hardware data base.


Main Window Changes


- Changed: The Undo/Reload function (reloading a transponder list from disk and discarding all changes) has been moved from the Edit to the File menu, which is a more reasonable place for it. Additionally it is now located in the context menu of the left list view, so a red (= changed) transponder list can be marked and reloaded by right-clicking it and selecting Undo/Reload from the menu.

- Fix: Switching from a very large transponder list to another one could cause long delays.

- Fix: After performing a Paste operation TransEdit did not only mark added transponders (as intended), but also transponders that were previously selected for a scan.

- Enhanced: After a scan new transponders that have been found by reading the NIT (Network Information Table) are displayed as selected, so you can see which transponders have been added.

- Changed: DVB-T and DVB-C transponders with the same frequency, but differing other parameters (e.g. bandwidth or modulation) are not discarded as duplicates anymore when loading a transponder list or performing Add and Paste operations. This allows to create and rework transponder lists defining a kind of blind scan by enumerating parameter variations.

As an example the TransEdit 3.9.3 package contains a Cable_All.ini transponder list. Please store it in the Configuration Folder\Transponders subdirectory, if it is useful for you. It can be used for generic DVB-C scanning, if no provider-specific transponder list is available.

- Updated: Transponder lists for Astra 19°, 23° and 28° East, Hotbird 13° East.

Scanner Changes


- Added: Handling of transponder lists containing entries with the same frequency, but differing other parameters (see above).

As soon as one of these entries is scanned successfully, the scanner skips further entries with the same frequency (except for satellite transponders with different polarisation) and continues with the next frequency. TransEdit marks the skipped entries with [X], if Settings -> Scanner -> Mark transponders without signal with [X] is ticked.

- Enhanced: "Scan Progress" section in the Scanner Window. The former frequency and symbolrate fields have been merged to a single field displaying additional parameters of the currently scanned transponders resp. currently selected scan result, e.g.
