wwdbv
I had the Olympic Opening recorded with DVBViewer and came up with a 4.5 hour 34 Gb ts file. Peers have asked for a DVD version (they don't care it is no longer HD on a DVD disk) so that they can play back on their home DVD machines. Which is the most efficient and simplest way to get a burnable DVD file so that I could compress the whole thing on a DVD-DL or even DVD5? Appreciate any help and advice! Quote Link to comment
Mister_M
Hello wwdbv! The only software I know at the moment which can convert H.264-TS Files to MPEG2 is Nero Vision 5. But it will take some time to get the Video encoded. For a 4.5 hour file you should use a DL-DVD as you said. Otherwise the Video has to be extremely compressed with a high loss of quality. If you use Nero Vision, make sure that you set the booktype to "DVD-ROM" in the burning options menue to assure a better compability to stand alone DVD players. However unfortunately Nero is not freeware and I don´t know if there´s any other software at the moment which can handle H.264-TS files. Edited August 13, 2008 by Mister_M Quote Link to comment
dgdg
I did some successful recodings with the freeware tool SUPER (v2008.build.32 July, 8 2008). SUPER recognizes ts files and converts them to a lot of formats like MPEG1/2/4, DivX, Xvid ... Quote Link to comment
