2 DVBServers in the recording service?

Is it possible to use 2 servers (i.e 2 htpc's) in the recording service to be controlled from 1 client/PC?

What exactly do you mean with "to be controlled"?

Quickly:

2 server each with his own RecService, and 1 client to see TV from both = yes

2 server each with his own RecService, and 1 client to program recordings = no (use relative RS WebInterfaces...)

so theres no way to have the tuners from both systems registed in one rec service web interface?
No. You can have 2 different RS sources in 1 DVBViewer Client and rec locally with it from the two; you can also send rec timers to one of them and have it make rec alone (ie whitout DVBV running...)
you have to use 2 different ips?
Of course... if you have 2 DVBV RS Servers you obviously need to distinguish between them, so you are obliged to assign them 2 different IPs and configure them as 2 different "Unicast Network Device" in a unique DVBViewer client...

BTW: assuming you have 3 PC, 2 DVBV RS Server and 1 client, you can see all devices spread in the 2 servers in all 3 PCs... the trick is the same mentioned above...

So you could schedule recordings from both RS's with one client? Is it possible to do that over the internet from a different location? Its of less use to me over a LAN..

you could Schedule recordings from both RS's via the two Webinterfaces. You can also Schedule recordings from ONE RS from a DVBViewer Client (only one RS can be set up for sending Schedules to)

So, scheduling recordings from the RS client is the same as just using the 2 webinterfaces separately?(as i can only use 1 server at a time) Whats the point of the RS client anyhow, is it needed for streaming?

huh? There is no "RS Client". There is the Software "DVBViewer". It needs a TV-Card to show TV. If there is no TV Card in the local PC, then it can use a Unicast Network Device to access a TV Card on another PC, if there is a RS running. The RS can by itself record shows when you schedule them via the Webinterface. You don't need a DVBViewer for that. In Case you want to schedule Recordings via the DVVBviewer (OSD or EPG Windows) and let them be recorded by the RS PC, then you need a connection to ONE(!) RS PC. You can NOT send the schedules from ONE DVBViewer to TWO RS PCs.

so, to conlude,

if you had 2pc's - 1 with 5 tuners and the other with 5, you cant have 1 webinterface that says 10 tuners in the RS? you need to use 2 separate web interfaces
