EPG Collector import

Recommended Posts

I want to enhance EPG Collector to directly import EPG data into DVBViewer.

Is the SDK in the download section up to date? The files in the SDK are dated 2005 and 2006.

"DVBViewer COM Interface" is "newest" documentation for the DVBViewer Pro (COM Interface and Plugin SDK).

For the Reording Service Web API the documentation is in the Wiki

http://en.DVBViewer.tv/wiki/Recording_Service_API

and if you like to assess the transponder stream from the recording service (without writing a real Plugin)

http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/32851-recording-service-option-to-stream-whole-transponder/page__view__findpost__p__236893

more code sempels are here

http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/forum/40-scripting-lounge-com-deen/

maybe take look at EPGImporter

old Version with source code (at the end of the first post)

http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/15578-epgimporter/

and the current versions but no source code

http://dajerk.de/EPGImporter/

Xepg

http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/20539-xepg/

http://www.a123.dk/

PS: EIT, MediaHighway1 and 2 and FreeSat are supported by the DVBViewer/Recording Service.

So the Plugin is mainly interesting for user which needs MHEG5 or OpenTV.

Thanks for all the info, I'll take a look.

When I implement the import you will automatically get all the protocols the Collector supports. I have added ATSC PSIP for the next release as well.

I have the import of EPG data to DVBViewer thru the COM interface working.

This may be a newbie question but do I need to import the same data thru the Recording Service Web API as well or will the Recording Service have access to the EPG data that has been imported via the COM interface.

If a user use only the DVBViewer he need the import via COM interface into the DVBViewer.

If a user uses the Recording Service. The user have only to import the EPG via Web API into the Recording Service. The Recording Service will than distribute the EPG to all clients.

I have the import working through the recording service now but was a bit surprised to find that the channel number was calculated as TID * 65536 + SID.

I though I had read somewhere it was going to use tuner type and NID as well.

Has anyone got the "direct import into recording service" working with UK Open EPG?

I am getting patchy results using XEPG and its not automating properly, so I figured that if I am going to spend time getting this right, I might see if the direct import will work.
