watch smooth 60FPS in dvbviewer by SVP

SVP is freeware that allows you to watch any video on your PC file with frame interpolation (like you can watch it on high-end TVs and projectors). It increases frame rate by generating intermediate animation frames between existing ones to produce very smooth, fluid and clear motion. The technology is well-known for a while ("TrimensionDNM", "Motion Plus", "Motionflow" and others), but now it's available for free to PC users with simple GUI and just a couple of mouse clicks.

Since version 3.0 SVP provides GPU acceleration and now it's possible to watch FullHD 1080p-video recalculated to 60Hz in real-time on any modern GPU hardware.

SVP actually is not a video player itself, but it enables almost any player to play smooth video.

In DVBVewer pro you can select ffdshow as decoder or use " Video postprocessor Plugin" and choose ffdshow as video postprocessor. SVP by Auto selecting and activating Avisynth scripts increase framrate by calculating and processing motion in video.

notes:

when using SVP you must select "resize & aspect" in ffdshow Always because switching between different video size channels or different aspect Ratio may cause dvbveiwer to crash! (DVBViewer pro 4.5)

dont select " keep original aspect ratio" and "Process Aspect ratio internally"

sometimes you need to select Manual Aspect Ratio and overlay aspect ratio.

if CPU usage is too high, dabble click on svp in system tray and configure profile. for example for smooth improvement select: by blocks

SVP use ffdshow for produce smooth 60FPS playback.

for enabling ffdshow as decoder in DVBViewer you must configure ffdshow video decoder as following image:

You Can use your own decoder in DVBViewer but add "ffdshow raw video filter" as PostProcessor

for this edit video PostProcessor plugin setting:

Help > Configuration folder > Plugins > PostProcessor.ini

edit:

[setup]

PostProcessor=ffdshow raw video filter

[Postprocessors]

restart DVBViewer and select ffdshow raw video filter in video PostProcessor plugin

note: if Yo have problem with colors(blue > yellow) enable postprocessing in ffdshow raw video filter.

I prefer this method so for my ATI Graphic card I can use Cyberlink video decoder (HAM) and ffdshow raw video filter as PostProcessor ( SVP use this for increase frame rate) and EVR Custom for Renderer

Although its kind of cool with these rendering scripts enabling you to accomplish smoother picture without ghosting and such, but the Interpolation technology is awful in its essence. Mainly due to the "Soap opera effect" making all video unwatchable, in my point of view. If you do find scripts abled to apply black frame insertion (bfi), it would be quite an another deal. In such a case let me know. Here is some info on what im talking about:

thanks for your idea

note that in modern TVs this effect persist yet.

by changing settings you can reduce this annoying effect at the expense of high CPU and GPU usage.

for me with ordinary LCD, Interpolation technology of SVP make watching comforter

I hope 25-30 FPS standards change someday and increase in cameras and broadcasting! :blush:

sorry for my bad English :rolleyes:

I found that if we disable fast channel switching then no need to resize video by ffdshow. :bounce:

(Settings -> TV+Radio -> Fast Channel Switching).

Please tell us about your experience using SVP.

This Is the most Extraordinary Thing I've never seen... (w00t) Espacially with "MainConcept MPEG-2 Video Decoder" !! :biggrin:

Everyone Should give It a try..."awesome"

I tried to make it work, but got very low and unstable framerates as a result. If I turn _off_ OpenCL (ATI 5870 hardware), it runs smooth, though.

install latest AMD Driver+OCL to solve this.
