What is the current status with MHEG in UK?

I wondered if I could ask the developers to let me know how the MHEG plugin should be working at the moment?

 

I've had a couple of goes at making it work but have never managed it. I'm quite prepared to put the time in, configure it and get it working, but only if I know that this is actually possible.

 

The main issues I had last time were

 

1. iPlayer did not work. Said I was trying to run it from an unsupported source. Is this expected behaviour?

2. The 'red button' features did not operate as I would expect, the MHEG software exited after selecting a red button stream, leaving me stranded on the red button channel with no MHEG application running

 

Please could someone let me know if this should all work, and what the expected behaviour should be?
