Almost too late to post this - but on Tuesday (26.3.2013) morning BBC HD will be switched off and replaced by a HD version of BBC 2. This also means the end of both the BBC HD Test Card (with AC 5.1 test signal) and the AV sync test which are (were) being broadcast as part of the HD Preview loop.

According to this post they will be broadcasting a continuous loop of the test card / sync test in the early hours of Tuesday morning as a parting gift. :original:
