I think the newer (yet to release) devices as well the current devices (either ios/android/w8 ) support segmented streaming.With that in mind would it plausible to use ffmpeg to segment the live streams. (That means html5 ready video)

I need to research better if this works well for live streaming and how it segments the stream but I think it is a good alternative to flash xD
