Guest hackbart
Hi, i just think it's maybe helpful to open this tread. As maybe some users know, the free mpeg decoder (http://www.openvue.net/daqing/index-en.html) works with DVB and HDTV as well as with DVD Playback. Feel free to add some comments in here - i guess this feedback is especially for the author (Daqing) very useful. Christian Quote Link to comment
Gioxy
I tested this codec and the results are encouraging... Plus: 1) good picture quality (specially with BOB deinterlace) 2) low CPU consumption 3) nice options panel with many settings Minus: 1) with fast moving scene (like sport events) is rather jerky 2) it doesn't understand correctly the "aspect ratio" that DVBViewer communicate it 3) HDTV rendering is very jerky, although the cpu isn't full used (about 80%) Hoping that Daqing will continue to develop it... Gioxy BTW: AMD 2400+; NVidia 440MX; XPpro SP1; DX 9.0c; DVBViewer 2.3beta Quote Link to comment
Griga
it doesn't understand correctly the "aspect ratio" that DVBViewer communicate it Using DVBViewer 2.3 Beta, DVBViewer Filter, and enabling automatic video format detection in the options should fix that - it lets the source filter is do the job for the video decoder. However, there's one major issue: The XYMpeg property page uses the same CLSID as Gabest - I guess, it *is* Gabest's property page, slightly modified - which may lead to nasty DirectShow confusion, e.g. after having registered Gabest's video decoder, which has been "customized" for the DVBViewer by a forum member (H_H, available here) and IMHO is working better. Maybe XYMpeg is just a modification of Gabest's code... dont' know. Quote Link to comment
