Problem TV-HD only in Full Screen (HDMI) with ATI

Hi:

 

I have a new clean installation of Windows 7 x64 in my HTPC.

I have installed DVBViewer with LAV Filters. I don´t have any other codec installed, neither any other software.

When I see a TV channel in HD (720p 50fps) in window, there aren´t problems. All works fine. EVR Render shows 50 fps.

But if I switch it to full screen, the video slows, and lost synchrony with the audio. EVR shows 38-39-40 fps, but it can´t achieve the 50 fps. DXVA is enabled in LAV, and the cpu is not charged.

I have a Samsung FullHD panel thru HDMI. My graphics are ATI HD3200 integrated in a Gygabyte motherboard. It´s configured at 60 Hz refresh. If I change it to 50 Hz it´s the same.

The configuration of ATI Driver is standard (predefined)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-UD2H AMD 780G

TV card: Hauppauge HVR-3000

ATI HD3200 integrated.

I don't see the entry for "Use Custom Renderer" in your setup.xml file. Select that in DirectX options.

 

Did you try the Windows native video decoder? Set it as your "Video B" and switch when you have a problem.

You can determine the used Video Renderer from the Output value in the setup.xml

0 System Default
1 Overlay
2 VMR7
3 VMR9
4 EVR
6 Custom VMR
7 Custom EVR

so in this case it is the Custom EVR

as well as "OutputA"

Must be a legacy from earlier version.

Yes, I´m using Custom EVR.

If I use standard EVR Render, I have cuts in the video, and the quality is poor.

 

I attached some screenshots.

You can see how in fullscreen the video slows.

 

I have instaled DirectX 11.Could be related to my problems with the version of DirectX?

No, the DVBViewer ads default settings only to the setup.xml if you have changed them once.

So if you disable the Custom Renderer (close the DVBViewer) and than enable the Custom Renderer the setting will appear in the setup.xml.

 

With other words if a setting in the setup.xml is missing. It has its default value and was never changed.

Yes this behavior makes support hard. But as far as I know that is not easy to change.

performance of the integrated graphics is incomparable bad.
Which video settings are in the CCC selectable?

You better use a dedicated graphics card, if you can.

Hi:

Yes, I know the integrated graphics aren´t the best solution, but in my HTPC I can play content in 1080p (with XBMC, MPC-HC). I only have problems in DVBViewer with TV-HD and in fullscreen.

I have the CCC with standard configuration. I attached some pics with this.

Really is a hardware problem? Is possible that the problem may be with software (DirectX, etc...)?

Especially the 780G isn't the best integrated solution. I had the same in 2008 and there are no possibilities to figure out performance issue with software, sorry.

 

You can reduce the video resolution of your display, e.g. 720p and test it again.

LAV performs poorly on my HTPC. Even with DXVA enabled, it can't keep up with a 1080i stream. It's like watching half-speed video with lots of breaks when the buffers fill.

Microsoft native decoder is much better.

Finally my problem was the integrated graphic. Really it wasn´t enough to play 1080i from DVBViewer.

I have purchased a dedicated graphic card (AMD R7 240) and now I can play HD channels without problems.

 

Thanks to Tüftler for his recomendation. I am a little poorer, but my HTPC works better.
