CableStar Combo HD CI driver problem on Windows 10 (64-bit, Polish)

Today I tried a fresh install of DVBViewer TE2/Pro on a freshly installed Windows 10 on a new computer. Although I got no error messages during the installation, none of the program works and Windows report that the driver is missing and that it's unable to find it, neither on the original CD nor in the Internet.

I will appreciate your advice

Best regards

Janusz

Which Windows version did you use before?

This is a new computer, so the answer is none. I've purchased for it Windows 8.1 which I upgraded to 10 and now reverted to 8.1.

On the old computer I used Windows XP.

Well, that's really a problem. TechniSat abandoned the PC section some time ago and does not provide new drivers anymore.

I didn't know that it already concerns Windows 8. We got many reports about trouble with Windows 10, mostly a crash with BSOD. So I guess it's running under Windows 7. According to reports in the German forum it also works with Windows 7 drivers under Windows 8, at least in some cases. But it may also depend on your hardware, the main board etc.

Is your box connected to USB 3.0? If yes, try USB 2.0, if available in your new PC.

The computer is Vivo PC, CableStar is connected to USB 2.0.

The system is Windows 8.1, the German forum mentions only Windows 8, maybe this makes the difference.

I think I will just install Windows 7 on this computer.

Thanks for you help!

When installing on Windows 7 I had at first the same problem as on Windows 8.1: no error report during DVBViewer TE2 installation but the drivers not installed. With some difficulty I managed to install them by hand. For archive: perhaps the same procedure would work on Windows 8.1. I will however stay with Windows 7.
