if the renderer use dxva, why is there still present the picture if copy made by print screen to paint? I.e. in Hauppauge wintv if renderer set to VMR7, there is no picture in copy, just on the display, that means softawre decoding is not used. If the picture in dxva is still present in software decodeing, then hardware accelearation does not save cpu usage.

If there is no picture the in the screenshot. The program is using overlay as renderer even if configured different in the program.

And for DxAV to work you need to enamel it in the used video decoder (Settings > Filter > ...). And if it is working is some times possible in the decoder settings. (at least in LAV Filters but that is not a good solution for XP only for Vista and later)

Yes you are likely right, as the picture in screenshot is missing in VMR7 and overlay, but it is there in VMR9 in WinTV8. If the picture is in screenshot does it mean it still use software decode?

Since Windows Vista the only Microsoft Video Renderer supporting DXVA is the EVR (including the Custom EVR in DVBViewer). Additionally DXVA is supported by the MadVR Video Renderer that can be used in DVBViewer.
