Was wondering if these work ?

if the recording service sends them to kodi correctly? looks like they don't? they may have at one stage..

Using windows 10 with Jarvis 16

Stuff like:

Tuner A B C D

Signal Strength

Signal Quality

BER

Encryption in use ? etc

other stuff could be transponder/channel sid/pid/vid and etc.....

Tuner A B C D

Are you talking about tuner groups? They are only for internal hardware management. To tell the DVBViewer/RS which tuner is able to receive which channel.

The clients aren't involved in the hardware management at all.

Signal Strength

Signal Quality

BER

Most Tuner only provided a value for for Signal Strength via BDA driver.

And the values are in most cases useless.

40% for a card can be 100% for a other one or different driver version.

And BER is never provided via default BDA interfaces. So you get it if at all, only with tools specialised for a specific card.

In my opinion this information should be removed from the DVBViewer GUI and web interface. Because it confuses more people the it helps.

(If some one needs it TransEdit should be the tool to use).

So it wound be contra productive to add in in more locations.

Which benefit do you get from those information in the Clint?

You could extract them from the channel list

http://127.0.0.1:8089/api/getchannelsxml.html?logo=1&rtsp=1&upnp=1&subchannels=1&tuner=1&fav=1

But I don't see any benefit.

There are lots of ideas, more then there can be ever implemented. So you need to explain a bit more.

Because it is possible or because others are doing it, is not enough.

Just enough for channel infobar to tell you more info about the channel you're viewing. anyone run aeon madnox ?

these typical info's is provided on most if not all DVB-S satellite box's in enigma2 .. why not make it standardised across windows dvb software ?

tvheadend does it. it's a shame about BDA drivers not being accurate enough. I'm used to engima2 tuners always providing accuracy with tuner signals.

why are they so sloppy developing dvb drivers with dvb hardware for PC..

thanks for reply

well i guess that is personal preference. I'm not complaining.. just wondering if it would be doable. I'd say the dvbviewerAPI side would need to plugin to the Kodi PVR api somehow what way

Huge benefit in Kodi. It would stop you having to exit the application to adjust the dish if the signal has dropped slightly. You could view the tuner live in infobar. Also details like TP info, & typical stuff in Engima2 would be cool.

See Quality and Signal here above. If the picture drops frame or blurs , usually the Quality & Signal will drop correspondingly, so you know there's a problem with ur dish alignment. ATM you need to exit Kodi if you have signal issues, which requries numerous remote presses (slow) to power>Exit it.

Then you need to use multiple applications to see the cause of the problem. Also if you zap the channel more than once usually DVBViewer Recording Service crashes (more so in the 1.33 beta than in 1.32 which is a bit of a problem I'm currently finding so don't use 1.33) which also means you need to use Task Manager and kill DVBViewer Recording Service before using DVBViewer , Transedit or .. what I use a Satfinder to show me what's happening signal wise. Bcos the Recording Service crashes and tuner unusable

Even if the signal quality value provide by majority of the BDA driver where use full.
Adjust a Sat dish in the constellation would only be a makeshift. Because of the delay between a change at the Sat dish and the resulting change on the display.

It should be in the same rage as the channel change time between two transponders. So a few seconds

And for sat parameter fetishist TransEdit should be the go to tool in my opinion :innocent: You can use it as RS client as well.

And RS crashes are a completely different topic. You should start with removing all plug-ins from the RS. And if you still get problems start a new topic and post a support.zip.

And besides signal quality and strength you haven't provided a example where the informations are us-full for.

And with digital video you don't get frame rate drop or blurs. The main result are bloc artefacts.

And things like frame rate, resolution etc. are part of the video decoding. Therefore client only.
