Running DVBViewer Media Server 2.1.1 on Windows 7 server, card Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-5525 HD that Uses DiseqC version 1.0

http://www.hauppauge.de/site/support/manuals/QI-WINTV8-HVRS-PCIE-V2.7-ENG.pdf

The card is powered via Aux. LNB Power

Able to switch satellite via DVBViewer direct (and also via TransEdit)

How do I activate the logging or where are the logs located?

What you want is the svcdebug.log in the configuration folder (see DVBViewer -> Help Menu).

Or just create and attach a support.zip that includes the log.

DVBViewer / DMS are supposed to detect your Hauppauge card as such and apply a Hauppauge specific method for sending DiSEqC commands. However, the detection doesn't work, because Hauppage has changed the hardware ID for some reason, so it doesn't match the corresponding entry in the hardware database anymore. Unfortunately Hauppauge doesn't notify us of such changes.

That's why DVBViewer / DMS fall back to a generic DiSEqC method. I wonder why it works in DVBViewer and TransEdit, but not in the DMS... they are using almost the same code.

Anyway, you can try to tweak the vendor information for DVBViewer (configuration folder\hardware.xml), TransEdit (configuration folder\TransEdit.ini -> [Hardware] section) and the DMS (configuration folder\config\svchardware.xml).

  1. Make sure that the corresponding application is stopped (DMS) or closed (DVBViewer / TransEdit).
  2. Open the file with a text editor.
  3. Search for the vendor entry in the "Hauppauge WinTV 885 Alt BDA Tuner/Demod" section.
  4. Change it from 0 to 2 and save.
  5. Restart the corresponding application, try how it works and please report your results.
