media libraries not updating

Recommended Posts

media libraries for two of my folders are complete mess

all of my movies were showing on update but had about 100 tv series missing.

I have tried the cleanup media databases, and update video databases from the task section, nothing helps :(

I thought I will change path from network share to local drive to see if the issue goes away and now things are even worst, all i see is Season 1, season 2, season 3..... till 7 under folders alphabetically.

under All files entry i see files that are still from the records when i used network share path plus a lot of empty entries

under directories i see no movie folders and only 5 tv shows folders

is there any way i could by hand delete the database? or is there any other things I can try?

Thanks :)

  1. Stop the Media Server.
  2. Go to the Database subdirectory of the configuration folder.
  3. Remove the file svcmediaVideo.db3
  4. Restart the Media Server.
  5. Perform "Update Video Database" on the Tasks page of the web interface.

Hi Griga, thanks for your post

took a while to find database directory as it isn't in DVBViewer folder :D

for anyone else looking it is at C:\ProgramData\CMUV\DVBViewer\Database

now i'm back to where i started, all movies now showing again, but tv shows list only 121 shows out of 263.

I have deleted last show on the list to see if there is something up with their files as it shows only 3 out of 5 season but still no joy, just got 125 shows showing now.

is there database size limit that i manage to hit? anyway to expand it?

any ideas would be great, thanks

It's much easier to find:

Windows Start Menu -> DVBViewer -> Configuration Folder

or

DVBViewer -> Help Menu -> Configuration Folder

or

DVBViewer -> Options -> Configuration Folder link

or

(Media Server Tray Tool ->  Configure Server ->) Media Server Options -> Configuration Folder link

No. The content of your svcdebug.log suggests that one of the media files causes an error that interrupts the database update process. The error message is (in German) "Ungültiges Argument zum Codieren des Datums", which means "Invalid argument to date encode". I'll have a closer look at it later.

I did find few files with messed up modified date, one had some 20467 and few had 1961

deleted the one with 20467  and all seems to work now

would be great to have database update errors listed in web interface and more importantly prevent database interruption so we dont have 100s of folders not showing

Bad idea, because now you can't test anymore if a fix works.

Errors are reported in the the file svcdebug.log that can be downloaded from the web interface -> Links page.

I will try, but unfortunately you have deleted the test object.

I don't delete anything without backing it up twice first :)

let me know where you would like me to upload the file (have two with really messed up dates), the ones from 1961 that windows isn't happy about displaying the date don't seem to matter but have two with some 5 figure years

I can provide a Media Server version that catches the error and you can try if it works.
