vonMengen
wouldn´t it be nice and useful to get ffdshow working in DVBViewer ? lots of modern displays with resolutions up to 1920x1080 are sold at the moment. and the scaling algorithms (bicubic) of common graphiccards really aren`t quite overwhelming and surpassed bei ffdshow as postprocessor dramatically. the horsepower of a P4 2,8 or AMD is quite adaeqate to get ffdshow to work .... regards vm Edited January 26, 2005 by vonMengen Quote Link to comment
Griga
wouldn´t it be nice and useful to get ffdshow working in DVBViewer ? What's the problem? Configure FFDShow for raw video, and it will be used. Quote Link to comment
vonMengen
hi griga would you mind to write one of your excellent how-tos to properly configure ffdshow with DVBViewer.... before i mess my excellent running system Quote Link to comment
Griga
Well, it's simple: Go to the codecs section of te FFDShow property page and enable Raw Video. After this, FFDShow will be automatically inluded in *every* video playing filter graph as video postprocessor (between the decoder and the video renderer). Or go to the Service Center, download the GraphSelector Plugin and create your own favourite filter graphs for the DVBViewer. The ReadMe tells you how to do it. Quote Link to comment
vonMengen
did it some months ago and had some minor problems this time it seems to work almost instantly - though something strange is that in the filterchain all of a sudden appears : ffdshow mpeg 4 videodecoder 003 ffdshow mpeg4 videodecoder 002 ffdshow mpeg 4 videodecoder 001 ffdshow mpeg 4 videodecoder is this only a cosmetic problem or is there something wrong in the config ? Griga
Where does it appear? How does the graph look like? Use GraphEdit, connect to remote graph. Quote Link to comment
vonMengen
all three numbered ffdshow videodecoders are connected one after another seems to produce no problems so far - even a resize to lanczos 4 and the sharpen filter (with a 2,8 P4 E Prescott and ddr 400 ram@2-2-2-5) regards vm Quote Link to comment
Griga
all three numbered ffdshow videodecoders are connected one after another Shoudn't happen. Even if it works - it unnecessarily consumes memory and slows processing down. There is an "only one instance" option on the FFDShow property page (codecs section). I would use it.
