Nolan
Hi using windows 10 pro version 2004, and DVBViewer pro using Hauppauge WinTV dualHD win 10, cant record 2 streams. It shows that both tv programmes are recording but trying to open the ts data the data of the second one is defect. Is it not possible to use DVBViewer pro to record 2 tv programmes simultaneously wit hardware that supports it? Are there some settings that i need to enable ? thanks Jorn Quote Link to comment

Usually this is no issue, even three or more programmes can be recorded simultaneously if enough tuners are available. vor 19 Stunden schrieb Nolan: using windows 10 pro version 2004 There are reports in the German part of the forum suggesting that some USB DVB devices are affected by data rate or speed cutbacks in this Windows version, causing the device or its driver to lose data, since DVB reception is a time critical thing (the channels don't wait...). As result DVBViewer receives a heavily disturbed stream, which did not happen in previous Windows 10 versions. That's why we strongly recommend not to update to Windows 10 2004 until this is fixed by Microsoft or the DVB device manufacturers. You can do the following: Verify that using two tuners simultaneously causes a broken stream from one of them (or both). Tune a channel in the DVBViewer main window and a channel on a different frequency (!) in the PiP window (right-click the channel in the channel list -> Picture in Picture). Right-click the PiP window -> Filters -> DVB Source and check if you get an increasing number of discontinuities. More about it here. You can also check it for the main window with Settings -> Filters -> DVB Source. Try to find a more up-to-date driver version for your device. Return to the previous Windows 10 version, if possible. Hans in Sweden
Hello! I use: 2 WinTV-HVR-1975 and 2 HD PVR 2 G.E. on "PC1" and 3 WinTV-HVR-1975 and 1 HD PVR 2 G.E. on "PC2". Both PCs have the latest version of Win 10. On PC1 the Hauppauge units are controlled by the latest version (40053) of WinTV 10. It is not possible to make simultaneous recordings on this PC. The second recording (and even addressing of the second unit) starts only when the first recording has finished. The recording list however announces that the second recording starts at scheduled time but that is not true. This is easy to see if the second unit is a HD PVR 2 as it has a recording indicator. The second unit is addressed only when the first recording has finished. The quality of both recordings are perfect but the second one is of course too short. On PC2 the Hauppauge units are controlled by the latest version (3.9g) of WinTV 7. WinTV 7 has no problem at all to make several simultaneous recordings and I prefer to use it. The only disadvantage compared to WinTV 10 is its inability to handle multiple HD PVR 2. All HD PVR 2 have the same MAC-address which WinTV 7 uses for identification. WinTV 10 uses serial number to identify HD PVR 2 units which is unique for each unit. On PC2 I have made a recording of the development of the recording schedule of PC1 that demonstrates my experience. Interested to see it? Best regards - Hans Quote Link to comment
HaraldL
How is this related to DVBViewer / DMS Media Server? You did not mention if / which version of those you use. Quote Link to comment
Hans in Sweden
Hello! I just wish to show that even Happaugues own latest program can't control more than one unit at a time. With an old version it is no problem at all to use several units at the same time. However, the different units must not be started at the same minute. Perhaps the problems with DVBViewer / DMS Media Server and Hauppauges WinTV 10 have the same origin? Sorry to interfere in this matter - Hans Quote Link to comment
Webturtle
Just a small note here: In the days of DVB-T, I had several Terratec DVB-T sticks with different names (e.g. the name suffix White, etc.). Only one of these could be installed. If you changed the stick, the other one also worked. This ruled out parallel operation. So it always depends on the manufacturer and the drivers. At least 3 of the Astrometa DVB-T2 HD Stick can be operated in parallel and at least two of the DVBSky S960 V2 USB Box with 1x DVB-S2 tuner can be operated in parallel with the DVBViewer. Many greetings Webturtle Quote Link to comment
