Situation:

PC is powered off. On "Prima ZOOM HD" encrypted channel is broadcasted program from 20.12.2021 13:30 which will be recorded by DMS. But the whole PC is powered on at 13:34 (4 minutes later).

After PC start DMS immediatelly start recording by using device "TT-connect CT2_4650 DVB-C Tuner". But recorded data are encrypted.

Maybe DMS should be to wait until "TT-connect CT2_4650 DVB-C Tuner" ends initialization or ends initialization of some parts of operating system - I don't know. When I manually stop recording and run a little bit later DVBViewer Pro - the channel is not encrypted (tested with other program).

"Restart recording after one minute when no audio or video data"

 

Maybe this problem can be solved by extending this functionality to:

 

"Restart recording after one minute when no audio or video data or video data are encrypted"

These are the relevant log entries. First the DMS detects that TT-connect CT2_4650 DVB-C Tuner (14) is not available. The first attempt to start a recording fails. Some seconds later a Windows message arrives, indicating that TT-connect CT2_4650 DVB-C Tuner (14) "arrived", as if it was disconnected before and has now been connected to the PC. This enables recording.

 

There is no other information that the DMS can get. There is no API (Application Programming Interface) for retrieving the internal state of the device, the driver, CI and CAM...

It is supposed to work this way. The full name of the option is: "Restart recording after one minute if no audio or video data arrives, either because is not received or because it is encrypted". But the UI can't tell such long stories.

Great. But why it not work in this manner?

Are there at least some of the video packets indicated as encrypted?

What about negation of this logic?: When are only some or one of the video packet within one minute indicated as encrypted -> auto-restart.

Because .ts file containing some encrypted data is useless for me.

 

TS Doctor indicate, file is encrypted:

Most of them.

 

I can reproduce your result by recording an Austrian HD channel that my CAM cannot decrypt. I see two problems:

  • Enrypted video is written to disk, though it is not intended to be recorded (because it's useless). The DMS should only start writing a video/audio stream after detecting a valid PES header, which can't be detected in encrypted data (or only accidently with a very low probability). This check is not sharp enough, but can be enhanced easily.
  • Occasionally TS packets containing video data with reset encryption flag appear. Some years ago I've read something about it. If a video frame is packetized, if fills several TS packets completely. But the remainder only occupies a TS packet partially. The rest is filled with stuffing bytes. If this remainder is small enough (less than 8 bytes of video data  in your recording), it is not encrypted, maybe because the encryption algorithm can't handle such small portions. These packets set the "data received" flag in the DMS and spoil the auto-restart mechanism. Theoretically this may also happen with audio.

It can be avoided by only setting "data received" if a TS packet is not encrypted and only contains video/audio data, no stuffing (I've tried this method - it works here). However, theoretically every TS packet may contain some additional stuff besides video/audio data, which would trigger the auto-restart mechanism unwantedly.

Not desirable. A single encrypted packet at the beginning of the recording (maybe because the CAM needs a bit time to get active) would trigger an auto-restart one minute later, even if all other data got decrypted properly.

Yes, it's sound very promising.

 

For me is important to not lost any recording, because I am not recording for me, but for one woman.
