Bosse Cabusa Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 DVBViewer Pro 7.3.0.0 hangs after 3 - 4 hours. Tried putting back previous version and it works. Tried again and the error comes after about 4 hours. It completely hangs and stops playing. The strength indicator is set to 90% and shows green. Reset the program and then it plays again for a few hours. But for now I will run the previous version. Quote
Griga Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 This is no known DVBViewer 7.3.0.0 issue, so it may depend on special circumstances in your PC. If you want to try 7.3.0.0 again, please reproduce the issue in DVBViewer debug mode (see Windows start menu -> DVBViewer), then create a support.zip and attach it here. Quote
Bosse Cabusa Posted August 11, 2024 Author Posted August 11, 2024 So, here is the file. Played for a few hours (radio) then the program locked. Hope the file can be read. support.zip Quote

The DVBViewer.log indicates a regular program termination at 11.08.24 21:20:19. So what do you mean by "locked"? Usually the UI of a "frozen" or "locked" program doesn't respond anymore, so it has to be terminated forcefully by using the task manager. The log shows no errors or special events in the time between 17:38:23 (TBS device initialisation) and 21:20:19 (TBS device released), so it gives me no idea what has happened. Quote
Bosse Cabusa Posted August 12, 2024 Author Posted August 12, 2024 It happens all the time. Attaching new file. The power meter goes down from 100 to 90% and then the sound stops. Even if I change the channel, there is no sound and 90% is displayed. But I guess I can run on the old version because it works. I feel like I recognize this problem. Had it a long time ago when this program was new to me. support.zip Quote
Bosse Cabusa Posted August 12, 2024 Author Posted August 12, 2024 Should perhaps clarify that it is the reception itself that hangs. I can still change the channel but there is no sound or the picture is black if it is tv. Quote

I can still change the channel but there is no sound or the picture is black It looks like the TBS device or its driver ceases to work. However, it is difficult to tell how this is related to the DVBViewer version. The handling of TBS devices has not been changed from 7.2.5 to 7.3.0, and DVBViewer does not call driver functions while playback is going on (it just receives the data), except querying the signal strength/quality every second for displaying it in the status bar. You can check if this influences the issue by switching to another type of display. Just click the signal (percent) field. We already had cases where DVB devices did not like being queried so often Quote
Bosse Cabusa Posted August 14, 2024 Author Posted August 14, 2024 It helped. Turn off the signal strength display and it has been playing for a day now. Thanks. Quote
