Wake on Lan for DVBViewer 3.2 and scripting.

This little tool enables you to wake a powered down computer via LAN.

 

Install:

Simply copy the content of the archive to a place of your choice and run regWOL.bat to register the dll.

Important: If you want to delete the folder run deregWOL.bat first to remove the registration of the activeX dll.

 

Files:

- dvbvWOL.dll:  the activeX dll you need to wake another computer via LAN

- regWOL.bat: registers the above dll.

- deregWOL.bat: unregisters the above dll.

- GetMac.exe: run this little utility on the computer you want to wake, it tells you the MAC address you have to pass to the above dll.

- test.vbs:  a little vbscript demonstrating the use of the dll. You have to enter the MAC address of the computer to wake, see GetMac.exe above.

 

The wake process works via TCP/IP sending a magicpacket as udp-broadcast on Port 80. Maybe you have to adjust the firewall of the sending pc. Of course the Computer to be woken up has to support WOL and you have to enable it in the bios (normally).

Be carefull when working on the bios-settings!
