Hardware Database Update

A Hardware Database Version 2 update for DVBViewer Pro 4.6 / DVBViewer GE 3.0 / TransEdit 3.6 / Recording Service 1.6.8 (or later) is available in the Members Area, Plugins Section.

The file BDADevices.dat contains an updated DVBViewer Hardware Database and replaces the built-in version. It enables special handling of DVB devices (if necessary) that have been unknown to the application(s) before, or corrects a wrong handling.

The file OldEMPIADriver_BDADevices.dat is a special version of the DVBViewer Hardware Database, enabling support for EMPIA-based DVB-T/C hybrid devices with old driver versions (Elgato EyeTV Hybrid, Hauppauge WinTV HVR 930C, TerraTec Cinergy HTC, TerraTec H5, Pinnacle PCTV Quatro 510e, MSI Digivox Trio). The old driver versions are natively not supported anymore, .which means, DVBViewer doesn't detect and can't handle the DVB-C tuner without this special database version.

Please note: Only use the update if there are issues caused by a wrong or missing hardware detection. Otherwise the external data base will only be a waste of time and memory.

Installation

1) Take care that all applications that use the Hardware Database are closed and the Recording Service (if installed) is stopped.

2) Store the file BDADevices.dat in the DVBViewer installation directory (where DVBViewer.exe is located). The file OldEMPIADriver_BDADevices.dat must be renamed to BDADevices.dat to take effect.

If there is more than one DVBViewer installation on your PC, you may also store the file in the Program Files\Common\DVBViewer Shared directory, where all installations will find it.

3) Launch the application(s) and perform a new hardware detection in the Hardware Options by clicking "Scan Devices" or "Detect Devices".

Applications will only load the external hardware database if its version number is higher than the version number of the internal hardware database. Simply remove the file if you want to let the application(s) use their built-in database again.

Changes in BDADevices.dat version 2:

- Added: DiSEqC support for AVerTV Galaxy (A816) (untested)

- Added: DiSEqC support for the ST-4200 DVB-S2 card (confirmed).

- Several additions and corrections for DVBViewer GE

- Fix: The file OldEMPIADriver_BDADevices.dat prevented DVBViewer Pro and the Recording Service from detecting more than one EMPIA based hybrid device (see above) of the same manufacturer. There are no changes in the file BDADevices.dat.

- Wrong DVBViewer Pro version number corrected in the ReadMe (3.6 -> 4.6).
