Hello
Is it possible to use AC3Filter for AAC decoding (DVB and media files)?
Thanks in advance.

No, because AC3Filter can't decode AAC; you can use FFDshow, it's freeware too...

No, because AC3Filter can't decode AAC

AC3 Filter is supposed to decode AAC since version 2.01a.

you can use FFDshow, it's freeware too.

Not suitable for DVB requirements, not accepted by the DVBViewer Filter. Dunno if AC3 filter is suitable - haven't tested the latest version yet.

IMO the best all-purpose AAC decoder is the one from DivX. It is part of the DivX Codec Pack. However, take care to untick everything in the installer that you don't want (toolbars etc).

If special AC3 filter capabilities are required it can be additionally used as audio postprocessor (see Postprocessor Plugin).

Oh, I'm sorry, I haven't see yet this fresh news... anyhow, good to know!

(FFDShow) Not suitable for DVB requirements, not accepted by the DVBViewer Filter

Sorry also for my misleading info, I wasn't aware about this limit... but how about media files?

but how about media files?

ffdshow can be used as AAC decoder with a different splitter/demultiplexer (e.g. Haali for MKV).
