I'm back. I've done a week's worth of testing and the news is mostly positive. I tried to pick programs to add to my timers that ran for an hour. With my 10 minutes lead time and 15 minutes post record time, I could easily spot that the majority of my recordings are coming out at around 1 hour and 25 minutes, proving that things were working. Which they mostly are. There have been a few occasions though where the PC is still not waking at the right time and this has been a few minutes late BUT the good news is that with the test version, the server is now reacting straight away and begins recording the program even though the PC hasn't woken up in time. Luckily the PC has woken up before the program has started on these occasions but I still don't trust it 100%. I tried to see if I could change any settings on my PC but all I found from Google was to try setting some USB devices in Device Manager to not allow the computer to turn off devices to save power and also turning off fast start up but I can't say that they've done anything. I wish I knew what was going wrong within the PC to prevent it waking exactly when it should. I've attached my log. Hallo, danke für die rasche Antwort 😉 Um das flexibel zu handhaben, bräuchte es z. B. eine Abfrage beim Videostart: "Von letzter Position fortsetzen / Von Anfang an abspielen", einfach mit zwei Schaltflächen (so macht es JR Media Center). Dazu könnte man noch einbauen: "Auswahl beibehalten", diese bei Bedarf in Optionen auf eine Präferenz zurückzusetzen, und ähnliches mehr... Um mein Szenario zu erklären: Ich nutze die Wdg-Liste im DVBV gerne für Videos der schönen Bilder wegen, die ohne Ton nebenher laufen, z. B. CG-Animationen ('Electric Sheep', aufgezeichneter Bildschirmschoner) oder Naturdokus. Die sind zum Teil mehrere Stunden lang, wenn ich mehrere Teile zusammensetze ('muxen'), z. B. 6 Teile zu 2 oder 3 Videos usw. PS: Den Bildschirmhinweis für lokale Videos, "Taste 0 startet die Wiedergabe von Anfang an", könnte man auch in den Abfrage-Dialog einbauen, dann ist er besser zu lesen als im Videofenster, wo er nur kurz erscheint... Wäre super, wenn es sowas gibt 😉 !

Das ist Absicht. Die Wiedergabeliste ist für die automatische Wiedergabe mehrerer Dateien hintereinander gedacht, z.B. die Folgen einer Serie. Da würde es stören, wenn sie nicht von Anfang an abgespielt werden. Um ein aus der Playliste gestartetes Video in bestimmten Fällen ausnahmsweise an der letzten Position abzuspielen, müsste der DVBViewer deine Intention erkennen, also dass du keine fortlaufende automatische Wiedergabe, sondern nur dieses eine Video sehen willst. Aber woher soll er das wissen?

Es gibt <title> <event> <description> Titel, Untertitel, lange Beschreibung <start> <stop> Start/Endzeit <channel> Die EPG Sender-ID. Selektieren eines Senders im Senderlisten-Editor des DVBViewers und Strg+G befördert sie in die Windows-Ablage. <iconurl> <reviewurl> <reviewtext> verwendet der Media Server selbst nicht, gibt sie aber beim XMLTV-Export (z.B. an Kodi) weiter. Wenn <reviewurl> existiert, wird <reviewtext> ignoriert. <charset> Zeichenkodierung, sollte möglichst immer 255 für UTF-8 sein. <eventid> <pdc> DVB-technische Angaben. <pdc> ist die in einem Zahlenwert kodierte ursprüngliche Anfangszeit einer Sendung, die auch bei einer Verschiebung gleich bleibt, und hat eine ähnliche Bedeutung wie das frühere analoge VPS-Signal. Siehe ETSI EN 300 468 -> PDC Descriptor. Die Struktur eines importierten Eintrags sieht so aus:

(Kein Fehlerbericht, daher ohne 'Support.zip'-Anhang...) Für lokal abgespielte Videos speichert DVBV die letzte Position, um dort fortzusetzen, falls vor Schluss beendet wurde. Eine sehr praktische Funktion! Leider geht sie nicht bei Videos, die aus einer Wiedergabeliste gestartet werden... Vielleicht ein seltenes Szenario, das den meisten Nutzern nicht auffällt... Super, danke, das hat funktioniert. Gibt es noch weitere Felder, außer Untertitel und Kategorie, welche der DMS im Webinterface anzeigt bzw. an Kodi weitergibt?

I'll have a look at it. The tuning should be asynchronous. It would be a great amount of work, because it would require a fundamental structural change in the DVBViewer and Media Server code base. That's why I'm looking for a short-term solution, maybe not optimal, but something users can live with.

Hier kannst du eine Zahl übergeben, die die Kategorie der Sendung angibt und gemäß den DVB-Spezifikationen ETSI EN 300 468 kodiert ist - eine leicht im Web zu findende PDF. Die Bedeutung entnimmst du dem Abschnitt Descriptors -> Descriptor Coding -> Content Descriptor. Einfacher ist aber womöglich, wenn du die Sektion [Genre] in einer DVBViewer-Sprachdatei zu Rate ziehst, z.B. "C:\Program Files (x86)\DVBViewer\Language\Deutsch.lng", wo die Kategorien übersetzt werden.

Du musst erst mal die Schlüsseldatei, die du als Mailanhang erhalten hast, auf der Festplatte speichern (irgendwas mit .dvbkey als Dateiendung). Wie das geht kann ich dir nicht beschreiben, da es vom Mailprogramm abhängt. Wenn der DVBViewer bereits installiert ist, startest du das Programm KeyTool.exe aus dem DVBViewer-Programmordner, im allgemeinen C:\Program Files (x86)\DVBViewer. KeyTool.exe ist das selbe Programm, das auch der Installer für die Eingabe der Benutzerdaten startet. Neben dem Feld "Schlüsseldatei" ist ein Button mit drei Punkten. Wenn du den Mauszeiger draufhälst, erscheint der Hinweis "Schlüsseldatei auswählen". Du klickst auf den Button. Es erscheint ein Datei-Auswahldialog. Du navigierst zu dem Ort, wo die Schlüsseldatei zuvor gespeichert wurde, wählst sie aus und schließt mit "Öffnen" ab. Danach gibst du den Benutzernamen und das Passwort aus der Mail ein, kontrollierst, ob die angezeigte Prüfsumme mit der in der Mail übereinstimmt, und klickst auf "Lizenzdaten installieren". Danach sollte sich der DVBViewer verwenden lassen. Wenn du schlau bist, benutzt du nach Eingabe der Lizenzdaten in KeyTool.exe noch die Funktion "Lizenz-Backup speichern". Dies erzeugt eine Datei, die alles zuvor ausgewählte/eingegebene enthält. Du speicherst die Datei sinnvollerweise auf einem USB-Stick oder so, den du an einem sicheren Ort aufbewahrst. Das erspart dir den Neukauf des DVBViewers, wenn du deine Lizenzdaten durch ein Desaster wie einen Festplattencrash verlierst.

Hallo zusammen, ich bin neu hier. Habe mir die DVBViewer Software für 22 € gegönnt. Die Freischaltung geht nicht. Im Feld Schlüsseldatei steht nicht vorhanden. Ich kann da auch nichts eingeben. Die Schlüsseldatei und das Passwort die ich per email bekommen habe, lassen sich auf dem PC nicht speichern. Das einzige was ich eingeben kann ist mein Benutzername, also die email Adresse. Ich komme aber nicht in das Feld Passwort. Kann mir jemand helfen, sonst habe ich 22 € zum Fenster rausgeorfen. Gruß

Ich habe jetzt herausgefunden, dass alles was zwischen <event> und </event> eingeschlossen ist, im Webinterface als Untertitel angezeigt wird. In den vom DMS selbst erzeugten Einträgen gibt es den <content> Tag, welcher evtl. die Kategorie enthält. Welcher Werte kann man hier übergeben?

Thank you for the response, I think the approach (4) is fine. In our situation, we need to maximize the amount of recorded minutes. But I'd like to stress the discoverability of the problematic channels. I just viewed the Status tab: I noticed when there are just 8 DVB-S tuners active, the delay is ~10 seconds. When 8 DVB-S tuners + 9 radio stations from the Internet, then the delay is ~17 seconds. svcdebug.log is full of SetTuner failed messages, but there is just info about tuning: Can this log be made more human-readable: show the station and exact Timer, which causes it? The good solution would be also informing about the tuning failings in the web interface. I think the info should show the channel and the timer which causes the tuning to fail. The perfect solution would be making the web interface asynchronous regarding the tuning and other long-lasting processes, but I guess it a great amount of work. What do you think?

Hallo, mittels eines selbstgeschriebenen Tools befülle ich den DMS mit EPG Daten. Das funktioniert soweit wunderbar. In den EPG Quelldaten sind zusätzliche Felder enthalten wie z.B. "Sub-Titel / Episode", "Jahr", "Kategorie". Wie müssen diese Felder in der XML heißen, welche ich dem DVBViewer Media Server per HTTP API übergebe? Ich habe bereits mehreres versucht, wie z.B. <sub-title>, <year>, <category> etc., keines hat zum Erfolg geführt. Vielen Dank.

This could cause a temporary delay in the web interface, but only once per timer. Drop the recording after a limited number of x tuning attempts, hoping that the channel will become available within x seconds. This could cause a longer temporary delay in the web interface, but only once per timer. Retry to start the recording once per minute (or some other interval), hoping that the channel will become available again sooner or later. However, this could still make the web interface sluggish every now and then, particularly if tuning fails for more than one timer. A combination of 2. and 3, hoping that the channel will become available within x minutes. What would you prefer from your experience as as "power recorder"?

Der Link oben in meinem Post ist ein Download-Link! Schaue nach, ob es Norton erlaubt, Ausnahmen für bestimmte Dateiendungen, Dateien oder Ordner festzulegen. Es entzieht sich meinem Verständnis, warum Leute sich solche "Sicherheitssoftware" antun und dafür auch noch bezahlen Der Windows Defender ist für den Hausgebrauch vollkommen ausreichend.

...but if you want TV streams to be played with the LAV Source Filter by all means, and if you are inclined to try something stupid, you can do the following: Use the DVBViewer Media Server, go to the Links page of the web interface and download a HTTP Channel List (Original Streams) as M3U file. Import this M3U channel list into the DVBViewer Channel Editor by drag & drop. For each channel tick the "Play as File" checkbox at the right-> Apply. Go to Settings -> Options -> Playback Components -> DVBViewer Filter and untick *.ts in the "Use DVBViewer Filter for" section. Tune a channel from the imported M3U list. Now the LAV Source Filter is used for playing it. It is possible, because each channel stream has a HTTP URL. However, you will soon encounter restrictions. In particular there is no EPG and no teletext, because the LAV Source Filter does not process such DVB specific data, even if it is contained in the stream. You cannot record the channel in the usual way, because the LAV Source Filter contains no recording engine. And so on...

Technically impossible. The LAV source filter / splitter can't receive streams delivered by a DVB card (BDA) driver. Only files or network streams with a URL.

Keine. Ist auch nicht zu erwarten bei HLS (erkennbar an der Endung .m3u8 in der URL). Für dieses Format ist keine EPG-Übertragung spezifiziert, ebensowenig wie für MPEG Dash (Endung .mpd). Hoffen kann man darauf eigentlich nur, wenn ein Transportstrom ohne weitere Verpackung via HTTP geliefert wird.

Hat sich erledigt. Ich hatte den Shortcut versehentlich auf "DVBViewer (Safe Mode)" gesetzt. Mit "DVBViewer Pro" ist alles gut.

I have never been able to change the splitter while tuning channels from DVB Source to use LAV splitter - it always uses DVB Source splitter I just found out how to use the MPC Video renderer thank you very much
