thomsi Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 The manual recording button does not turn from red to grey any more, once programmed recording starts automatically. It still does for manual recording. I find it an essential usability issue that any active recording is visually indicated. Else, recording appears to work fine. I've downloaded DVBViewer version 3.2.6.80 on dec. 27, 2005. I haven't used any version 3 before,- can only tell that the behavior was OK in my old version 2.2. Don't ask me why I didn't step up earlier... but thanks for the vast amount of really great improvements, anyhow! Thomsi Quote
boehler Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 For me it is also very annoying that there is no visible indication for an active recording. In addition, instead of turning from red to grey I propose to make the recording indicator more remarkable: let it blink or change the colour to green or so... Regards, Boehler. Quote
Guest Lars_MQ Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Moved, cause a bug is something wrong in code, not something you think it should handled in a other way. Quote

I would not consider this particularly useful for programmed recording, in case you are away from your screen when recording starts. In reply to Lars, it is arguably whether this is a bug or not. Working for a large IT company, we consider it a bug when a previously existing usability feature got disabled, unless you have a smart explanation why it got removed, or in case there is a reasonable replacement. From a user's point of view, there is now an inconsistency between manually started recording (which is indicated) and pre-programmmed recording (which is not indicated). Nevertheless, I do accept whatever disposition you'd like to take on this issue. In reply to Boehler, I'm fine with whatever solution can be implemented. I was just describing how it worked in 2.2, and would like to point out the issue of consistency with manually started recording. Anyhow, thanks a lot for all your quick and thoughtful replies!
