antdude Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 When watching high definition/HD TV shows like Lost, Invasion, etc. I do not hear my rear speakers making audio. During commercials that are not in HD, I do hear the rear speakers. Am I missing something? I am using DVBViewer Technisat Edition v4.3.2 that came with my Air2PC-ATSC-PCI card. I use AC3 v1.01a and 2/2 quadro speaker setup for my Klipsch ProMedia v2-400 speakers (4.1 setup). According to TitanTV, TV shows does Dolby Digital, DTS, etc. I believe my speakers can handle Dolby Digital to downmix to 4.1. I am not an audio expert so maybe I am doing something wrong. DVDs work just fine. Thank you in advance. Quote
antdude Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 Interesting... Watching live without time shift and playing back from MPEG-2 recordings (not .ts), they sounded correct (with the rear speakers). I also noticed AC3 filter properties show green graphs (equalizer types) changing. Time shifting didn't show these graphs in AC3 properties. Does time shifting not do audio correctly or something? I am quite puzzle with this! Quote
