DVB-S scanning, how?

I have just installed the full version v3.2.6.80

 

I am trying to do a full scan (first time) of hotbird.

 

however, in the root i see only Kabel lines. No sattelites there.

 

when i try to scan after setting the correct values for the LNB and scan range it finish the sccan in 1 second and make a little sound but no chaanel has beeb found.

 

i must be doing something wrong.

 

I am using Skystar 2 on winxp pro.

problem was that device was not recognized.

 

I changed the device under options->directx to Skystar2
