remlap Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 (edited) Hi, im a new user of DVBViewer having just bought a Skystar2 card and having limited success decoding H264 using a piece of software called "TSreaderlite" Now ive read the topic in the HD forum but where is the download at for me to use. Is there either a free .ts recorder plugin for the newest release that came on Technisat disks or even plugins to view on that piece of software Thanks Edited April 6, 2006 by remlap Quote
bergh Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Hello ! Sorry , but could you please specify what you mean? TS ist NOT h264. T S= Transportstream which normally contains MPEG 2 , and sometimes H264. For Playing TS the TS Player plugin from Griga (Members Sections) ist quite good. Additional H264 Filter may be needed. Hence also usable Software for TS and MPEG and H264 ist Media Player Classic (has NOTHING to do with Micro$oft) and needs installed Filters and Codecs in the System. VLC= Video Lan Client (Dos not need any Filter in the System, because it uses its own ones.) Plays MPG, TS, H264,XVID,DIVx, MP4 and so on.... Quote
remlap Posted April 6, 2006 Author Posted April 6, 2006 (edited) Sure what I wanted really was a way to record the transport stream which is in H264 and view it in Media Player Classic or VLC Or even a way to watch it without having to record the transport stream and do it live Hope thats easier to understand The main reason I would like to learn how is due to the fact that BBC will be using DVB-S and H264 for thier first trials in HD of Wimbeldeon and World Cup etc. Thanks. Derrick Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Is there either a free .ts recorder plugin for the newest release that came on Technisat disks or even plugins to view on that piece of software Are you a registered user of the DVBViewer? If yes, read the description. Either the pro version or the GE can record H.264 as a transport stream. If no, get yourself a licence for only 15€ Quote

remlap Posted April 6, 2006 Author Posted April 6, 2006 (edited) Thanks, still is it possible to decode H264 using this edition then I didnt relise that there was differences in the software. If not how easy is it to setup H264 on the premium versions? Edited April 6, 2006 by remlap Quote
Derrick Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 You´ll need the premium version. But beware that you need a very powerfull pc to decode h.264 though it´s very easy to record the transport stream. Most h.264/avc streams are transmitted in dvb-s2. Your hardware (SS2) is not capable to receive dvb-s2 ! Quote

Cheers for all the info. Quote
