cody Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Well, let me try to give all the details... I'm using DVBViewer GE 1.9.4 with two DVB-S Skystar2 PCI, each one connected with a different dish. I'm also using the last Technisat drivers (4.4.4) - made to be used with two Skystars. I already have, on my Channel List, all channels that I need for both dishes. The problem is: only the first Skystar works (the first listed device). So, if I select a channel on the second dish, it will not work. The only way to get the second Skystar working is if I start to record a channel on the first Skystar. Then, I can tune any channel on the second Skystar device. But now, if I try to tune a channel on the first Skystar device, it will not be possible to tune anymore (but it's still recording). The only way to get everything working is if I start to record on both Skystar. Then, I can watch every channel I want - as long as I'm recording something on both dishes. So, let me try to resume everything... When I start DVBViewer, only the first Skystar device works. I cant tune any channel on the second. If I record something on the first device, now I can tune any channel on the second device, but not on the first device anymore (but the recording on the first device is still going on). The only way to get everything working is if I start to record on both devices. Then, I can tune and watch channels between both devices, normally. Is this a know problem ? Quote
hdv Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Hallo, here a statment from the manual If you have connected more than one DVB-device to your PC, the DVBViewer can use them all atthe same time und for example display TV with one card and record a program with another card. It’s also possible to mix different reception types, but be aware per reception type there can only be one source (e.g. 2 DVB-S one Astra, one Hotbird is not possible!). have you the two dish's on different satellite positions, that is not possible in one DVBViewer GE instance. You can select every SkyStar2 in one instance, please look here How to run multiple instances of DVBViewer GE Quote
cody Posted April 8, 2006 Author Posted April 8, 2006 (edited) have you the two dish's on different satellite positions, that is not possible in one DVBViewer GE instance. I see. Well, maybe in a future release. Because I dont see many obstacles. I guess you just need a trigger to point which device to use when you select a specific channel. I think the solution for now is use 2 DVBViewer GE instances. Each one with a different device and dish. Thanks. Edited April 8, 2006 by cody Quote

hdv Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Hallo, i have 2 skystars, 1 airstar and 1 msi dvb-t and i run 4 instances of DVBViewer pro. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you can use all dvb-cards in 1 DVBViewer Pro 3.4.9.200 Beta Instance or in 1 DVBViewer GE 1.9.4 cody's problem is that he use 2 cards on 2 sat-positions, so thats a problem for switching channels, why the DVBViewer have no idea which card on which sat-position is the DVBViewer thinks that he can switch with every card too every channel, of same type naturally, dvb-s card too s and dvb-t card too t etc..
