Hi

I'd like to dedicate a whole PC as media-center with only the DVBViewer pro application.

I have an Asus Pundit P1-PH1, Intel P4 3.0GHz, 1GB RAM DDR2, AT Radeon® X300, SkyStar2. Win XP Pro.

Does anybody tell me the steps and the only SW needed for my purpose?

regards

...install, in appearance order:

1) a suitable S.O. (Windows XP Home or Pro suggested)

2) latest driver for all the PC's hw components (overall the video card one!)

3) latest S.O. update (mind you don't need any Java or .NET)

4) latest DirectX (actually 9.0c february 2006 update)

5) a good DVD player (for the MPEG codec to be used: NvidiaDVD Pure Video, PowerDVD, WinDVD...)

6) DVBViewer Pro, of course ;)

...after that you only have to decide witch remote to use and the proper hw/sw...

Hello !

The spooler service ist for printing.

AFAIK you can disable it.

Dito all Network Services (if no network is used.)

Hence your 3 GIG machine is far to fast for DVB only.

You should consider underclocking it :)

Could be not powerful enough for upcoming H.264. Network services are essential when using the machine as a server or a client :)
