diizzy Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 (edited) Hi, I'm just wondering if there's a possibility to evaluate compatibility in some way, perhaps using a "crippled" version and/or beta test. I've done quite some research and I havent found an answer for my DVB-T card yet. The card in question is a AVerTV DVB-T 777 PCI card which is fairly new on the market. It uses a Philips SAA7134 chip and Zarlink MT352 Demodulator, unfortunately I'm not sure of the tuner but it seems to be Philips TD1316A. There's a BDA driver available so I belive it meets most requirements for DVBViewer (in theory). Sorry if I sound like a cheapskate but there's no point in shelling money on something that doesnt work. I'm willing to do beta testing if needed. //Daniel Edited June 20, 2006 by diizzy Quote
jf2020 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 If your card has a BDA driver then it should work fine, but to be sure you need to use the Transedit MMC tool that is available for download from DVBViewer main page. DVBViewer free downloads If you can do a scan ofchannels with Transedit , then your card will fully work with DVBViewer. Quote
pissedbob Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 (edited) I'm using an AverTV A800 (USB2 DVB-T) with no problems. DVBViewer was certainly worth the money. It's easily the best desktop TV application I've used, but there are some annoying features which the developers refuse to add - eg you have to order the channels yourself because it's not clever enough to pick up the broadcast channel numbers (LCNs). C'mon guys, even the AverTV software does this.... As someone has stated above, you can use TransEdit MMC to test if your card will work with DVBViewer. It's not entirely obvious how to scan channels at first glance, but what you need to do is: a) ignore all the satellite stuff, scroll down to "Terrestrial (EUR)" in the list and c) click the "All" button. Guest Lars_MQ Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 because it's not clever enough to pick up the broadcast channel numbers (LCNs). has nothing to do with clever, LCN are no standard, I don't see a need to support it. But you know how it is, should the tv-stations here ever decide to introduce and support this, it may be included. Nothing get's faster implemented than a problem or need a developer has (at least in my case, and I'm free to say this cause it's a hobby which costs a lot and pays nothing). Quote

I have AVerTV Hybrid+FM Volar, this HW is in Settings-Hardware OK but when I used Transedit (button ScanAll) will display me report "Sorry - cannot scan. The required DVB device is occupied. Try again later :-)" It means, that DVBViewe will not function with my device? Quote
Gioxy Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Mmmh, there is the possibility that it simply mean that "The required DVB device is occupied", ie there is some other sw that is using the device at the moment... have you already tryed to turn off all AVerTV related sw? Or maybe the problem is that AVerTV is a hybrid (Analog&Digital) device, so probably unsupported at all... Quote
