Habos Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Hi I have a vdr box with ss1 and with lirc working nice with my remote control. Unfortunatly winlirc dosn't support my remote receiver. My remote has multi functions for 4 devices and I like to use 1 of it for DVBViewer that is runing on my XP box. I would like to know if I can setup DVBViewer to use the lirc server that is runing on my linux machine. Both PC's runing in same network, so I probably only need to put in somwhere the IP from the PC runing lirc but I was unable to found where should I enter that. Thx Quote
Habos Posted July 24, 2006 Author Posted July 24, 2006 Hi Unfortunatly I didn't get an answer. I still think it is possible just need to know where to put the IP of my lirc server instead of 127.0.0.1 I searched over the config files but couldn't find such option, please can you give me some hint. Thx Quote
Gioxy Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 (edited) I still think it is possible just need to know where to put the IP of my lirc server instead of 127.0.0.1 I don't think so... with every probability is hardcoded in the app, and IMHO is absolutely uncommon to "remotize" a remote control... Unfortunatly winlirc dosn't support my remote receiver What do you mean with "dosn't support"? As stated here in the bottom line: "Remote control configuration files (lirc.conf, sample.cf, etc.) are identical and interchangable"... Have you already tried to use, at least, the linux .conf file with winlirc??? Edited July 24, 2006 by Gioxy Quote

Have you already tried to use, at least, the linux .conf file with winlirc??? It's maybe uncommon but it can happen as I have on one machine a linux system with VDR and SS1 working and also my remote control works without any problem on that system. On other system I have windows with SS2 and DVBViewer. The winlirc dosn't recognise my IR device as it's a custom build serial device (Igor Cesko's serial remote interface) Becouse my remote works on linux with lirc without any problem, and becouse my remote is a multifunction device (4 devices) i would like to use it also to control the DVBViewer with it (i don't want to buy another remote device and IR interface just for windows) and I already setup foobar that way. Gioxy Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 (edited) IMHO the simplest and fastest solution is to build/buy another Igor Cesko's serial remote interface for your windows PC and make it working; I also maked one of it, and work perfectly; moreover you already had the config's files... However you can trust in our helping hand to try to resolve your difficulty, until you post a specific and well described problem... I told you this way only because I do belive that Winlirc input parameters are hardcoded, and it's honestly too difficult that DVBViewer programmers want to add this function for one people only... but, if you prefer, you can claim for a more "official reply"...
