LostMan Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Hello I have been trying to find some half decent PVR software for my TV Card, and someone suggested DVBViewer to me. My TV Card is the Hauppauge HVR-1300. This is not listed directly on the web site, but I think it is compatible because the DVD part of the card looks like one of the cards on the list ? First .... the only software you seem to be able to download is the DVBViewer Technisat edition, which I don't think will work with my card ? (installing it doesn' work, I get a driver error?). Then I read that only the full version is compatible with my card (so how do I evaluate the product?). Also it seems I need DVBViewer ... not Technisat edition, and also there seems to be mention of a product called DVBViewer Pro .... but nothing on the website ? .... confused Where is DVBViewer Pro ..... will it work with my card ? and how woud I get it ? Thanks Tim Quote
ocho Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 use Transedit MMC from the free download area and see if it will scan if it does then DVBViewer will work. if not use PROGDVB you can still use plugins and the like, just does not look as good Quote

Thanks Tim Hi Tim, you have do townload the Transedit MMC, you can start it, and if it works ant if it is able to find the channels on your Sat or on the DVB-T you can be shure that also DVBViewer works with your card. http://www.DVBViewer.com/de/index.php?page=downloads And than you only have to pay the 15 EUR and shortly you get the access to the PRO and GE version ... and much more (plugins, skins etc.) And you will love the DVBViewer, it is really the best program I have ever seen !!! When you got it read exactly the instructions it is very important because some things are a little bit triky but it is really worth to work a little bit with it and if you red well the instructions you will have a great forum assisting you, too. Hope to see you soon around here bye Isidar Quote

Seems to find channels ... an the preview works as well I guess that means DVDViewer will work ? Regards Tim Quote
Isidar Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Hi ... me again Seems to find channels ... an the preview works as well I guess that means DVDViewer will work ? Regards Tim ... so you got it it was correct to put Terrestrial EUR and if you found channels and the preview works fine ... also DVBViewer will work fine ... ... and as I already said "you'll love it ..." ciao Isidar Quote

I'm located in Canada; terrestrial digital television is the same as in the US (ATSC 8vsb). I did download and ran Transedit MMC. It finds my tuner card as "ATI DTV Wonder Digital BDA" witch is correct it also define it as "ATSC" tuner type and state "Normal" . So these settings are all correct. I have selected "America ATSC" in the transponder list and also selected a known good frequency (503) for my area. It does not open the third window when I click on "Analyze" or "Scan". It does open the third window if I select the "Terrestrial" setting as the Tuner type in the hardware configuration although it does not provide any information when pressing "Analyze' and does not find any station when pressing "All". Looking at the Transedit.ini file there is no hardware section ! Yet I'm able to run TSReader selecting "BDA ATSC Source" selecting the same frequency (503). Help would be appreciated. Thank you. RonD Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 The desired information is still missing. Have a closer look at the link. Thank you for the reply. Since the ATI HDTV Wonder card is not on the "Supported DVB Devices" list I ran Transedit to find out if it would work with DVBViewer in North America; Transedit failed so I quest I have my answer. I will check again in a few months. Thank you. Quote
