daffy Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Hi, it seems as if Corel Paint Shop Pro X (PSPX) - specifically v10.03 - and the latest version DVBViewer in overlay mode are incompatible. Steps: * Start PSPX 10.03 * Start DVBViewer in overlay mode //exp: see image //act: all black, but OSD works * Terminate all * Start DVBViewer in overlay mode * Start PSPX 10.03 ... still works. No idea whether this is my nvidia drivers, the codes or whatever (even PSPX acquiring the overlay itself) - but VMR9 works. Question / suggestion: Fallback to VMR(x) in DVBViewer if the overlay device cannot be acquired, in case this is not done? Emit diagnostic? Quote
hackbart Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Not really a problem of the DVBViewer, but at least reproduceable. By the way PSP 7 is working fine, only PSP >=9 is acting weird. Honestly i have no real idea why, but since a longer time i avoided to play with psp9 while running the viewer in overlay. Anyhow the new default skin will be much more cooler in vmr mode Christian Quote
steffenvogel Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 (edited) Nice, when do you think the new osd skin will be released? mfg Steffen Edited July 31, 2006 by steffenvogel Quote
hackbart Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 well unluckily when its done The graphics are done by rago and i just arrange the osd- windows in the way he designed them. I think it might take at least 2 weeks to get through, but i honestly look forward and right now the osd looks a way much cooler than the xbmc skin theme )) Christian Quote
Griga Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Not really a problem of the DVBViewer, IMO it *is* a problem of DVBViewer Pro. When configured for Overlay Mode, it fails to use a fallback *in general* if overlay is not available. Not only in conjunction with Corel Paint Shop Pro. Quote
hackbart Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I wish this would be so simple Tune a channel in overlay mode, start the mentioned apps and see what happens. "An *ouch* Overlay is not working, try an other way" is inside, but there is no "jesus, it worked till now and after starting psp/corel it breaks, so do something" is not implemented. Christian Quote
Griga Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 "An *ouch* Overlay is not working, try an other way" is inside, Doesn't work here with two DVBViewer instances. I launch GE with overlay, then Pro -> no picture. The other way round: GE falls back to "Unchanged" (VMR 7 surface in windowed mode). Did I miss something? P.S. Indeed, I did. It works, if the OSD is disabled. The OSD seems to cover the whole TV picture with a bitmap (overlay color, I guess, non-transparent in the fallback mode). Ok, I admit it's difficult to handle with this kind of OSD, in contrast to the GE's "patchwork" OSD. Particularly because the DirectShow GraphBuilder can't be convinced to use a "VMR 7/9 windowless mode" fallback automatically (which would work with enabled OSD). but there is no "jesus, it worked till now and after starting psp/corel it breaks, so do something" is not implemented. That's not the reported issue, as I understand it: * Start DVBViewer in overlay mode * Start PSPX 10.03 ... still works. Quote
