gibman Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 (edited) Before I pull the trigger on a new AMD 64 X2 CPU I would like to know if DVBViewer is multithreaded or not. And if any known problems exist when running with multiple CPUs. /Gibman Edited August 1, 2006 by gibman Quote
Hartwig Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 The dvbviewe works with a X2 CPU. (but i think, no multithreating) But if you have problems with some programs (I had problems with virtual pc an google earth), you should install die AMD Dual-Core Optimizer. Then it works http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_ty...ies/TscSync.zip Quote
Guest Lars_MQ Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Some Parts of the DVBViewer are multithreaded. But that are only minor things. Most important ist the DirectShow framework of windows which will be multithreaded (in some parts at least I think -> decoder if it supports it). But you have always the possibility to bind the DVBViewer main (and sidethreads) to one CPU in the options. Quote
steffenvogel Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 No problems with a Pentium 4 Hyperthreating 3 Ghz. mfg Steffen Quote
hdv Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Hallo, no problems with Intel Pentium D 940 too the DVBViewer use both cores, if you haven't select the option "Use Only First CPU" Quote
