ilaps Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 I use the last version of DVBViewer GE with a SAT card and TNT usb stick. It works nicely, except that eachtime I launch DVBViewer, it tells me "initialization of the DVB device has failed", and TNT doesn't work. I must go in "setting-options-hard", chose my TNT stick (which appears as Dibcom DBA digital tuner (dev1 path0) ). Then I must press "detect device", then "OK". and finally, it works. Is there a mean not to do that, such that the launch is automatic, without all these manipulations : my wife doesn't appreciate! Thank you for any answer Quote
Griga Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Does DVBViewer GE remember (changed) settings correctly when launched next time? Or with other words: Does it save them in the file Setup.ini? Please use the support tool. Quote

Here is the file made by the support tool, after using several times DVBViewer for both sat and tnt; so I presume that updates are visible on these files? support.zip Quote
Griga Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Well, the setup.ini seems to be ok. Hard to tell what's going on. A bloody driver issue, I guess. The only workaround I can think of ATM is forcing a hardware detection somehow when DVBViewer is launched. Try the following: 1) Move the setup.ini to some other place, in order to force a new device detection 2) Launch DVBViewer. Tune a DVB-T channel. Does it work now without the manual "Detect Devices"? 3) Close DVBViewer. Restore your settings resp. the setup.ini Quote
ilaps Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 If I delete the setup.ini, start DVBViewer, it works perfectly. If I stop and start again DVBViewer, I get the problem of initialization. Is there a very simple mean to make a kind of script deleting first the setup.ini and then executing DVBViewer? Quote
Griga Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Is there a very simple mean to make a kind of script deleting first the setup.ini and then executing DVBViewer? It can be easily done with a batch file. But you would lose your settings each time, including scheduled recordings etc. - no good solution. Send me a PM with your email address. Quote
